What's New in v2.6.0

This release marks a historic milestone for the Quantum Bitcoin (QBTC) network with the integration of an in-tree, open-source, and fee-free CUDA GPU mining backend directly into the core code.

Major Highlights:

  • Core CUDA Backend: Built from the ground up to support multiple GPUs dynamically and independently.
  • 0% Dev Fee: Staying true to the Cypherpunk ethos, this implementation is entirely open-source (MIT Licensed) with absolutely zero developer fees.
  • CPU Optimization: Reimplemented midstate caching for the CPU hash path, improving performance for non-GPU participants.
  • Seamless Fallback: Devices without NVIDIA GPUs or CUDA toolkits will seamlessly fallback to the optimized CPU mining core.

Provenance and Acknowledgements:
A massive thank you to @kaito-zero for developing this CUDA architecture entirely independently and contributing it directly to QBTC-core. This is exactly how decentralized open-source development should work.
