@github-actions github-actions released this 02 Oct 08:06

Mise Browser v0.12.0

Highlights

  • Modal Navigation Engine: Vim-inspired modal navigation introducing NORMAL, INSERT, and
    PASSTHROUGH modes with an active status and mode bar displaying link destinations and TLS state.
  • Native Dark Reader Engine: Zero-dependency, low-latency theme engine with per-site domain
    exclusions and dedicated toggle shortcuts.
  • Privacy & Adblocking Restoration:
    • Repaired Ghostery adblocker multi-session attachment so ad and tracker blocking runs
      consistently across all partition workspaces.
    • Eliminated template string regex errors in webview preload to ensure Canvas, WebGL, Audio,
      and Hardware farbling shields apply reliably on untrusted domains.
    • Implemented User-Agent reduction and synchronised client hints (Chrome/<major>.0.0.0) to
      avoid leaking unique OS build signatures.
  • Google Sign-in Compatibility: Added automatic request routing to WebLiteSignIn, resolving
    persistent botguard challenge blocks (rrk=46).
  • Release Automation & Packaging: Integrated electron-builder multi-platform CI pipelines
    with an in-app zero-privilege GitHub release checker.

Choose a tag to compare

@Rakosn1cek Rakosn1cek released this 29 Sep 21:33

2026-09

Performance(memory):
Optimise main process baseline, lazy session loading, and GPU cache

  • Lazy-load workspace container partitions on demand instead of
    eagerly creating all sessions at start-up.
  • Fix memory watcher residentSet threshold bug to correctly trigger
    tab hibernation at 200 MB rather than 200 GB.
  • Add V8 heap compaction hook and idle GC sweep to flush initial
    adblocker deserialisation buffers.
  • Reduce force-gpu-mem-available-mb from 2048 to 384 MB to cap
    compositor tile caching and drop GPU process RAM by over 200 MB.
  • Hook compactMemory IPC into hibernateInactiveTabs to reclaim
    memory immediately when tabs are detached.

    event listeners.

Documentation

1. Does Mise Collect Any Data?

No. Mise Browser collects zero data.
• No Telemetry or Analytics: There are no tracking SDKs, telemetry beacons, or background pings
in the application.
• No Remote Error Reporting: The browser does not transmit crash traces, memory dumps, or error
logs over the network.
• 100% Local Storage: All browsing history, workspace sessions, bookmarks, quickmarks, notes, and
preferences are stored strictly on your local machine under ~/.config/mise-browser/.
• Zero Interception: Search queries and URL lookups route directly to your chosen search engine
without proxying or logging.

2. Safeguards for Future Error & Debugging Telemetry

To ensure any future error reporting remains strictly privacy-preserving, the newly established
policy sets out mandatory architectural rules:

  1. Strictly Opt-In: Telemetry and crash reporting will always remain disabled by default. It will
    never be activated without explicit user agreement.
  2. Zero PII or URLs: Crash logs will only contain application-level runtime error codes and stack
    traces. They will never include visited URLs, page titles, form inputs, session cookies, or
    hardware identifiers.
  3. Local Inspection First: Error dumps will be stored in a local log file first so you can
    inspect the exact payload before choosing to submit it.
  4. Explicit Preference Toggle: A dedicated setting in Preferences (F1 or Ctrl + H) will allow
    toggling diagnostics on or off at any time.
