nodedr-pos wiki

nodedr-pos is a free, open-source (AGPL-3.0), offline-first Point of Sale and inventory management system for small retail shops. It runs as a two-container Docker Compose stack (or a native Windows/Debian install) on a machine in the shop — no internet connection required after setup, no subscription, no data ever leaving the premises.

Built around a barcode-scanner counter workflow: scan an item to sell it, press Enter to check out, print or download the receipt with one click. No scanner handy? Scan from a phone/tablet camera instead. No barcode at all? Generate and print one, right from the app.

The README is the authoritative reference — it's kept in lockstep with the code. This wiki is a navigable companion: shorter pages, task-oriented, for when you don't want to scroll one long document.

Philosophy

This is a small, focused tool for one shop, one till — offline-first, zero-cloud, zero-subscription. Feature requests and contributions are welcome, but scope stays aligned with that: see Contributing before proposing anything that pushes toward multi-tenant or hosted-SaaS territory.
