Bug description

Hi,
I patched the play store version of instagram (v402.0.0.49.70 with patches_v5.43.2-dev.1) with patcher 1.25 and also 1.26. I get a perfectly fine APK which will though not insgall saying it's incompatible with the device.

I encountered the same problem with my Google Pixel 6a. I am currently running GrapheneOS. A week ago, I could install the patched app on LineageOS, but only by using root. I haven't been able to solve the problem, but I can share some insights I gained while digging the cause:

1. Instagram is not installed in my phone.
2. I downloaded an APK bundle using the Aurora Store, and unzipped its contents. Instagram version is v402.0.0.49.70 (380806219).
3. I tried patching the Instagram base APK using ReVanced Manager.
4. The ReVanced Manager installer fails in exactly the same way as @zsavajji.
5. When I try to install the APK manually, it fails with the following error: "App not installed as app isn't compatible with your phone".
6. I tried patching the app using ReVanced CLI, as I initially thought the problem might be related to CPU architecture support:

$ java -jar revanced-cli-5.0.1-all.jar patch -p patches-5.43.1.rvp base.apk

Then I used adb to flash and get more information about the possible errors:

$ adb install base-patched.apk 
Performing Streamed Install
adb: failed to install base-patched.apk: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SPLIT: Missing split for com.instagram.android]

Obviously, it's missing the split apps. In my case, it's the config.xxhdpi.apk that came with the APK bundle. Knowing this, I tried installing the app bundle using adb:

$ adb install-multiple base-patched.apk config.xxhdpi.apk
adb: failed to finalize session
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_APK: android.content.pm.parsing.ApkLite@4a2eeef signatures are inconsistent]

I also tried installing the bundle using this guide, but to no avail:

I am not familiar with these kinds of errors, nor with Android development in general. I find little useful information online about this problem.

You need patch an full apk file, if it is splitted/bundled, use APKEditor for PC or Anti-Split M for mobile to merged them first.
So, this not a revanced issue.

@cyberboh thank you for your suggestion, and it worked when using a split APK downloaded and merged on device.
It did not work when using the installed version from the device itself, which i downloaded from the play store.
It worked for version 392, which I had installed before.

Also make sure you are patching an architecture which is supported by your device. Eg arm64-v8a.
