After i patched YouTube and launched it for a first time, i noticed that opening any video takes around 2 minutes before playback.
When the video finally plays, quality is stuck around 360p.
I would like to change the quality, but the selector is missing from the player overlay menu, so i cannot manually change the quality.

notes

• Reinstalling the app, switching from mobile data to WiFi did not fix either.
• I used YouTube Vanced without issues (when it worked).
• I dont know whether the slow load time and missing quality selector are related.

Can't confirm the quality selector but
I can confirm the initial load time

I activated my debug logs and wiped the cache
The first short I tried took very long to load, scrolling shorts afterwards was fine. Normal videos all took long

Same patches, I think YouTube just changed something about the player on their end to break it. On top of changing device spoof type (Android VR with AV1 also works) Other workarounds seem to be moving to later in the video and toggling power saving (sometimes lets it start for a bit) but I more reliably got it working by making it a PiP/background activity and then turning screen off, I assume because that's a different player.

I can confirm this. The video takes a very long time to load. Although 2160p is selected, changing the quality is greyed out and the video quality is poor, maybe 360p. Workaround with visionOS is not working anymore.
