Supreme Commander's Zone Control as a gameplay mod, for the converted Zone Control for FAF 8P V2 map. A port of johnie102's Zone Control for Forged Alliance (8P V2).

  • No commanders, no building. 53 zones on the diamond, each guarded by a T2 point defence. Every zone you hold sends you a unit every few seconds.
  • Capture: destroy a zone's turret, then hold the zone with 5+ units, more than anyone else. Its owner retakes it with 10 and no enemies there. Lose every zone and you're out; the last team standing wins.
  • Kills earn money and levels: better units, T4 heroes at levels 4-6, invulnerable base artillery at levels 7-9.
  • Shops: move your base's upgrader onto a shop, or have it assist one, to buy. The gun sells attack upgrades, the radar sells defence upgrades and the generator sells kamikazes. The banner lists the prices.
  • Only runs on the Zone Control map. On any other map it says so and the match is normal.

New in 0.5.1

  • Needs the Mod Manager 0.13.0 or later (Mod API 1.8.0) for every player.
  • Built on the Mod API's new host helpers.
  • Lighter on the host: it no longer redraws unit labels every tick (each player's own game already draws them).
  • The setup summary shows in the log.

The catch: names over units don't show in the Playtest build, so the shops are told apart by their buildings. Chosen's T2 point defence is broken in this build, so taken zones get Guard's.

Install

  • ZoneControl-0.5.1-WithMap.zip: the mod and the map in one zip. Extract into the game's engine folder and both land in place: SanctuaryMods\ZoneControl\ and Sanctuary_Data\Maps\Zone_Control_for_FAF_8P_V2\. Needs the Mod Manager 0.13.0 too.
  • ZoneControl-0.5.1-ModManager.zip: just the mod, for an install that already has the map. Extract into the game's engine folder, so it lands in SanctuaryMods\ZoneControl\. Needs the Mod Manager 0.13.0 or later.
  • Every player needs this same copy and the map. The host picks the map, opens Mods in the lobby, switches Zone Control on and sets its options; Start waits until everyone matches.

This is a gameplay mod: it changes the match's Lua, but only in lobbies where the host picks it. Outside those the game runs vanilla. Built for the game update of 24 September 2026 (0.0.1.20).
