ZombieApocalypseAddon Wiki

ZombieApocalypseAddon turns Minecraft into a configurable zombie survival world. Zombies can keep pressure on players during the day, hordes and blood moons can spike the danger, and zombie-class mobs can get stronger as the world gets older.

This wiki is written for server owners who just want to know what to install, what commands matter, and what settings to change first.

Install Rules

  • Multiplayer server: install the mod on the server.
  • Players: do not need the mod installed to join a multiplayer server.
  • Singleplayer: install the mod on the client because singleplayer runs a local server.
  • Do not install both Forge and NeoForge files at the same time.
  • Back up the world before major config changes.

First Setup

  1. Install the correct jar in the server mods folder.
  2. Start the server once.
  3. Stop the server.
  4. Open config/zombieapocalypseaddon-common.toml.
  5. Adjust the easy settings first: spawn chance, spawn interval, daytime start day, baby zombie chance, and block light protection.
  6. Start the server again.
  7. In game, run /zdayspawn status to confirm the live settings.

Good First Commands

/zhelp
/zcompat status
/zdayspawn status
/zscaling status
/zhorde status

If your world feels too hard:

/zdayspawn chance 0.25
/zdayspawn interval 180
/zdayspawn daylightstart 10
/zdayspawn babychance 0.0

If bases should be protected by torches:

/zdayspawn maxlight 7

Zombie block breaking is disabled by default. Check its settings with:

/zblockbreak status

Zombie block placing is also disabled by default. It can build limited one-block steps and bridges when enabled:

/zblockplace status

World War Z-style zombie towering is disabled by default and starts on day 20 when enabled:

/ztower status

If you want to safely remove the mod for a while:

/zcleanup uninstall
