GetTranscript 1.1.0 makes exporting captions easier to read and use.

  • A 520px popup sizes itself to its content, up to 560px. Loading, empty and restricted-page states stay compact; export controls remain accessible.
  • Caption languages are discovered dynamically from supported players. Stream speaker matching uses structural metadata, localized numeric times and exact text matching. Ambiguous matches remain unnamed and native VTT speaker tags are preserved.
  • Markdown keeps each bold timestamp and speaker directly above the caption, with a hard line break and one blank line between cue blocks.
  • Refreshed help and Store artwork. All processing stays local, with the same extension permissions.

Validated with 23 unit tests, 14 loaded-extension tests in Chrome and Edge, actual toolbar popup tests (including keyboard interaction and 150% scaling), CommonMark rendering, and the original Stream meeting: 315 captions with 315 speaker labels. GitHub CI also runs the actual toolbar tests.

Languages are those exposed by supported players. This release does not add translation or speech-to-text generation.

The Chromium Store ZIP is shared unchanged across distribution channels. Chrome Store submission remains deferred pending publisher sign-in.
