Direct Control 0.3
Changelog
0.3
This is a pretty big update, with a lot of new features, improvements, and some things being reworked completely.
New stuff
- Third person camera is here! Move the camera around with your mouse, and adjust the shoulder side and height however you like.
- Walk styles can now be changed in the settings. You can pick between different moods like happy, sad, angry, gloomy, and overjoyed, or just leave it on auto or default.
- A new in game settings menu has been added. You can open it by pressing ESC and clicking the mod icon in the bottom left corner, or by pressing F4.
- Keybinds are now fully customizable, so AZERTY, QWERTZ, or whatever layout you use should be much easier to set up. Everything saves automatically.
- Sprinting has been added. You can now choose between jogging and sprinting, and sprint speed can be adjusted with a slider. Sprinting also has a proper running animation now.
- Added a toggle to disable object fading, so furniture, walls, and other objects stay visible when walking around.
Made better
- The whole animation system has been reworked from the ground up. Walking, jogging, running, and mood based walk styles should feel much smoother overall.
- FPS in the city should be a lot better now, since lots are no longer force loaded all the time.
- Collision has also been improved. You should no longer fall through floors, and walking through doorways should feel much cleaner now.
Experimental
- Lot loading is now available in the settings, but it's very experimental and turned off by default. Honestly, I don't recommend enabling it right now. It can load stairs and walls when you walk onto a lot, but it may cause FPS issues and other weird behavior. I was honestly just too lazy to remove it before this update, so it's there for anyone who wants to mess around with it. 😅
Removed for now
- The experimental NPC conversation feature has been removed for now. I want to bring it back later in a much better way.
Have fun with the update, and please let me know if something breaks!
