v0.99.2
OpenRCT2-Access v0.99.2
A fix for building pre-built rides and stalls at height.
Rides now build where your cursor is
Raising the cursor with Home had no effect when placing a flat ride or a stall. If a path ran under the ride's footprint, the build was refused however high you had raised the cursor, and the error described the path down at ground level rather than where you were actually standing.
Placement now starts from the elevation you have chosen, so putting a merry-go-round above a path works as it should.
The game decides, not the mod
Separately, the mod used to refuse outright whenever anything unclearable sat under the footprint — a path, a fence, another ride. That was the mod making a call only the game can make: a flat ride can legitimately stand on supports above a path.
That refusal is gone. The game is now asked, at each height in turn, whether the ride actually fits, and the answer comes from the game's own placement rules rather than the mod's guesswork. As a result you may find rides building above obstructions that were previously rejected — that is the game's behaviour, not a new exception.
Scenery is still cleared when it is the only thing in the way, so a ride blocked by bushes settles onto the ground instead of hovering above scenery it could have removed.
Everything from v0.99.1
If you are coming from v0.99 or earlier, this release also carries everything from v0.99.1: the move to the OpenRCT2 0.5.4 engine, and installing into a copy of OpenRCT2 you already have rather than shipping a second copy of the game. See the v0.99.1 notes for the details, including how to install and uninstall.
