Commander
The Commander lets human players direct allied AMAI players. Install the Commander with option 1 in the command-line installers or select it in the Electron installer.
Lua maps only support the initial language and game-mode dialogs. For commands during play, set the map's script language to JASS in World Editor before installing AMAI.
At the start of a supported game, choose:
- No Commander — play normally without Commander controls.
- With Commander — play normally and command allied AMAI players.
- Computers Only — human forces are removed; humans direct AMAI allies through the Commander.
- Joint Control — like Computers Only, with direct control of the allied AMAI forces as well.
Press Esc or enter -cmd in chat to open the Commander menu.
The current command table exposes these groups:
- Attack or guard an enemy, the current camera position, or a selected unit.
- Stop attacks or prohibit attacks against creeps, players, or all targets.
- Request anti-air, anti-ground, farms, or towers.
- Cancel all, attack, build, or queued orders.
- Start, pause, resume, undo, and add targets to the command queue.
- Show or change the current strategy.
- Toggle chatter, debugging, balancing, and automatic strategy changes.
The menu is the reliable guide to the parameters accepted by each order. Its labels and commands are generated from Commands.txt in the source repository.
The Electron installer can set the default language. For a source build, the defaults are generated into Scripts\<VERSION>\Blizzard.j:
string language = ""
string game_mode = ""An empty value opens the dialog. Supported language names are English, Deutsch, Swedish, French, Spanish, Romanian, Russian, Portuguese, Norwegian, and Chinese.
Game-mode values are commander, no_human, ai_only, and shared. Edit source/configuration and rebuild where possible; changes made only in generated Scripts output will be overwritten.
