Repository navigation
Releases: SWUFE-DB-Group/TexLite
Release list
TexLite 0.18.0
- Configurable snapshots: Record text files by default. Project writers can include or exclude individual files through a searchable grid. Restoring new snapshots preserves unmanaged files; existing snapshots remain recoverable.
- Local avatars: Choose a DiceBear style, generated and stored on your own server. Avatars appear consistently in comments, collaboration sessions and edit history.
- Improved PDF preview: Adopt PDF.js’s native viewer for rendering and page caching. Bundle CMaps for Chinese font support, improve loading-error feedback, and enable source-to-PDF navigation from included TeX files.
- More reliable discussions: Synchronize comments, replies, resolution states and unread notifications across sessions. Follow manuscript reading order across included files and show resolved discussions in batches of 50.
- Broader file editing: Edit more text formats, including JSON, YAML and shell scripts, with syntax highlighting. Download individual files directly from the file tree.
- Performance improvements: Precompress static assets with gzip and Brotli, load Vim and auxiliary languages on demand, move BibTeX formatting into a worker, and streamline ZIP imports and file-tree refreshes.
- UI refinements: Improve comment hierarchy, relative timestamps, history controls, PDF tabs, file icons and deletion feedback. Correct English singular/plural wording and tooltip preferences.
- Maintenance: Upgrade core frontend dependencies, reduce npm runtime dependencies, improve collaboration connection handling, and remove unused code.
Database changes are applied automatically on startup.
TexLite 0.17.0

- Removed unused code, styles, and translations, and expanded regression coverage.
TexLite 0.15.0
A release focused on smoother comment discussions.
• Open a single discussion from its source marker, or browse all comments from the toolbar.
• Preserve source anchors through edits and undo. (Fix #8)
• Keep comment and reply drafts within the current workspace, with inline errors and duplicate-submission protection.
• Collapse long discussions while keeping active replies and mention targets visible.
• Record and display who resolved a comment and when.
• Improve reply highlighting, long-source layouts, and recovery from failed comment loads.
Existing databases are migrated automatically.
TexLite 0.14.0
• Migrated LaTeX syntax support to a Lezer-based parser, improving highlighting, folding, indentation, and completion.
• Refined editor colors for clearer commands, mathematics, references, and comments.
• Fixed common parsing boundaries, including multiline arguments and starred commands.
• Improved BibTeX completion, comment handling, macro insertion, and closing-bracket indentation.
• Reduced reference-scanning overhead during typing and simplified file-path suggestions.
TexLite 0.13.0
This release makes source comments easier to navigate and review, with bidirectional source navigation, participant filtering, and a clearer discussion toolbar.
Comment review
- Sort comments by source position (the default, top to bottom) or creation time (newest first). Sorting applies to top-level comments; replies retain their chronological order.
- Filter by participants with a multi-select participant picker. Threads include matching reply authors by default, with an optional Top-level comments only restriction. Selected participants' display names and usernames are highlighted without coloring the entire discussion.
- Combine status and unread mentions: Open/Resolved remain status filters, while unread @ mentions are a separate toggle that can be combined with either status.
- Navigate from source to comments: click unresolved annotated source or its trailing marker to open and locate the corresponding discussion. Explicit navigation temporarily reveals threads hidden by review filters, without marking mentions as read.
- Source navigation preserves normal caret placement and editing. Drag selection and Ctrl/Cmd-click reference navigation remain unaffected; resolved and orphaned comments leave no source markers.
Interface improvements
- A compact review toolbar separates discussion status and navigation from participant, unread-mention, and sorting controls.
- Participant selection uses an anchored popover that does not push discussions down; selections apply immediately, with a separate clear action.
- Author-only Edit/Delete actions now live in a ⋯ menu for each comment and reply. Deletion still requires confirmation.
- Quoted source uses a monospaced, truncated excerpt with a light background; replies use a subtle gray indentation line.
TexLite 0.12.0
TexLite v0.12.0
This release improves GitHub backup, makes selection history easier to access, simplifies project snapshots, and refines editor settings.
GitHub backup
- GitHub personal access tokens are now managed per user rather than per project. Click your account name on the project dashboard to configure your token once.
- Repository creation and pushes use the current project owner's credentials. Repository bindings remain project-specific.
- Commit and push operations keep the Git dialog open and display success or failure feedback without reloading the workspace.
- Commit is disabled when there are no local changes; push is disabled when there are no unpushed commits.
- Removed the manual refresh control and improved token authentication and permission error messages.
- Commit-history diff buttons now toggle the comparison open and closed. Their tooltips remain available regardless of the workspace tooltip setting.
History and snapshots
- Selection history is now available directly from the line-number gutter when source text is selected, alongside the comment action. The top toolbar retains a single project snapshots button.
- The selected file, range, and source are captured before opening selection history, keeping the comparison stable during collaborative edits.
- New snapshots are saved only when files are added, changed, or deleted. Settings-only changes no longer create empty timeline entries.
- Existing empty snapshots are hidden from the timeline without being automatically deleted.
- PDF, image, and other non-text attachment changes appear as compact notices instead of text diffs. Attachments remain available for recovery.
- Fixed deletion-only snapshots incorrectly appearing to have no changed files. Invalid or oversized text comparisons are reported as unavailable rather than unchanged.
Editor settings and localization
- Added a compact Harper CLI availability indicator beside the project dictionary, with a recheck action when unavailable or when the status request fails.
- Moved writing-issue counts and navigation controls below the spelling and grammar checking option.
- Simplified helper text for tooltips, math previews, editor tabs, and formatting in English and Chinese.
- File and folder move controls always show a concise “Move or rename” tooltip, even when interface tooltips are disabled.
- Fixed the HTML
langattribute remaining Chinese when the interface was English. It now follows both initial language detection and subsequent switches. Fixes #6.
TexLite 0.11.0
New
- Optional ChkTeX diagnostics: Enable project-wide LaTeX writing checks in compiler settings. TexLite runs checks after a short editing pause, limits concurrent jobs, and displays parsed diagnostics in the editor.
Improvements
- More reliable PDF preview: Keep the previous PDF visible while a new one loads, retry failed PDF loads, and show the PDF’s size and last-updated time.
- Better PDF-to-source navigation: SyncTeX can open a source file that is not already active, reveal it in the file tree, and switch layouts when needed.
- Clearer project uploads: ZIP uploads show real transfer progress, then indicate that archive validation and extraction are in progress.
- Cleaner workspace transitions: Changing the main document immediately clears results from the previous document; reopening a project still restores its retained compile result.
- UI refinements: Reduce dashboard control sizes and make the dictionary input placeholder less prominent.
- Website redesign: Refresh the landing page with a more editorial visual style and reorganize its feature comparison.
Reliability
- Improve recovery from PDF document and page loading failures.
- Prevent duplicate compile notifications from disrupting SyncTeX state.
- Make compiler-setting saves safer against conflicts and duplicate submissions.
- Prevent Ctrl/Cmd+S inside dialogs from accidentally triggering a compile.
