GNM Studio v1.2.0
GNM Studio v1.2.0 is a major local-first mocap, rendering, and web-edition update.
Highlights
- Added browser-based seeded GNM identity generation using a lazy 6.85 MB quantized basis in a dedicated Web Worker. Desktop identity remains on the exact native Rust evaluator.
- Added the MIT FaceCap 52 mocap avatar with direct 52-channel MediaPipe/ARKit-style tracking, manual controls, locks, export, and offline KTX2/Meshopt decoding.
- Added hazel/green-brown irises and preserved black pupils to FaceCap and GNM heads, including lightweight gaze motion.
- Separated GNM dental arches and tongue from skin materials; separated FaceCap upper/lower enamel and pink oral tissue from skin PBR.
- Improved neutral calibration with cover-crop-aware face sizing, movement rejection, and stable three-second gating.
- Corrected face-only yaw, pitch, roll, neutral-relative rotation, and mirrored roll handling.
- Improved FaceCap PBR UV decoding and model-relative displacement while keeping skin microtexture disabled by default.
- Fixed popout rendering/layer synchronisation, model decoder loading, material error labelling, and canvas background ordering.
- Aligned recording, playback, timeline, FPS, import, and export controls on one desktop toolbar.
- Added responsive web identity support, GNM favicon/PWA icons, Open Graph image, canonical metadata, JSON-LD, sitemap, and robots metadata.
Windows downloads
- Standard portable ZIP — recommended: normal executable with the best antivirus compatibility.
- Portable UPX ZIP: smaller executable compressed with UPX. Some antivirus products apply extra scrutiny to packed executables.
Extract one ZIP and run GNM-Studio-v1.2.0.exe. The application bundles GNM assets, FaceCap, MediaPipe WASM, Face Landmarker, and texture resources. No Python, CUDA, virtual environment, model download, installer, or cloud service is required.
The optional system FFmpeg backend is only used when selected and available; portable browser-native encoding remains included.
Web edition
Try the client-side web edition at https://drbaph.is-a.dev/GNM-Studio/. Camera frames, microphone input, identity settings, and generated vertices remain local to the browser.
Validation
The release passed frontend and asset checks, TypeScript production builds, lint, Pages/offline asset verification, four Rust tests including Python-reference parity and FFmpeg smoke transcoding, UPX integrity verification, and launch smoke tests for both portable executables.
SHA-256 hashes are included in checksums.txt.
