v1.7

Choose a tag to compare

@SamBWagner SamBWagner released this 14 Jul 02:23

Version 1.7 shrinks data updates and smooths out scrolling, search, and editing.

  • Much smaller, faster data updates: when the card catalogue changes, Grimora now downloads only what's actually different instead of the whole database — a fraction of the size, far quicker, and still applied safely in the background
  • Update on your terms: a new Automatic Data Updates setting lets you switch off automatic catalogue downloads and refresh manually from the Library menu whenever you like
  • Smoother scrolling: card art is now prepared off the main thread before it's shown, so scrolling through large grids stays fluid instead of hitching
  • Faster in-list search: searching within a collection runs off the main thread, so typing no longer freezes the list
  • Snappier editing: changing a card's category, quantity, or zone no longer recomputes every collection — large libraries stop stalling on each edit
  • Tidier multi-category view: empty categories stay hidden until they're needed, and a card tagged into several categories appears as a dimmed ghost in the ones it isn't filed under
  • Maybeboard for Commander decks: adding an extra card to a full Commander deck now offers to place it on the Maybeboard
  • Card-back placeholder: cards without loaded art now show the classic card back instead of a blank tile

v1.6

@SamBWagner SamBWagner released this 07 Jul 11:22

Version 1.6 adds Commander decks and makes iCloud sync dependable.

  • iCloud sync that sticks: an edit made on one device now holds everywhere instead of quietly reverting to an older copy — change a quantity or swap a printing and it stays put across all your devices
  • Commander decks: create a collection as a Commander deck and Grimora keeps it to a single copy of each card (across printings), with an "Add Anyway" option when you mean it. Promote a card to your commander or trim duplicate copies in one step
  • Reorganise by Type: file a deck's cards into Creatures, Instants, Lands and the rest with a single action
  • Multi-category tags: tag a card with more than one category so it can sit in several groupings at once, shown as tags in list view and a badge on grid tiles
  • Steadier syncing: sync no longer stalls on "unavailable", uploads only what actually changed, and a new Settings menu Sync panel shows the last sync and what's pending
  • Simpler collections: every collection is now either a plain Collection or a Commander deck, and older decks carry over cleanly

v1.5

@SamBWagner SamBWagner released this 05 Jul 15:11

Version 1.5 makes Scry more rewarding and Grimora easier to use on iPhone.

  • Scry shows the value: every scanned card displays its price, and valuable pulls light up with a colour tier and a celebratory sound. Set your own alert thresholds in Settings
  • Re-scan a Commander deck: point the camera at your physical deck and Grimora reconciles it against your saved list, so you can accept every change at once
  • Bulk scanning holds focus more reliably, with a tap-to-focus hint, and now reads collector numbers on old-border retro reprints
  • Rearrange your dashboard: drag collection tiles into any order, and drop one onto a pinned tile to pin or unpin it
  • Collections and the New List source picker now lay out cleanly on small iPhones, with full-width cards that no longer clip at the edges
  • Aftermath cards now turn the right way so both halves read upright, with clearer rotate and flip controls

v1.4

@SamBWagner SamBWagner released this 02 Jul 22:48

Version 1.4 brings camera card recognition and living foil to your whole library.

  • Scry: point your camera at a card and Grimora recognises it on-device, then files it into a new Scanned collection. Scan one card at a time, or a whole stack in bulk mode
  • When a card could be more than one printing, Grimora shows you the likely candidates to pick from rather than guessing
  • Foil comes to life: foil, etched, and special-treatment cards shimmer as you tilt on iPhone and iPad, with a new finish picker in the card detail
  • Foil now renders in search, collection grids, and detail alike, so foil cards read as foil everywhere
  • Pull down to sync: refresh any collection to sync with iCloud, or pull on the Cards screen to check for new card data
  • On Mac, sync with iCloud from the File menu or toolbar, and drag the card detail pane to the width you want
  • A new animated launch screen, plus Favourites and Scanned now lead the sidebar as built-in lists
  • Opening a collection is now instant, with artwork loading in the background

v1.3-review

@SamBWagner SamBWagner released this 27 Jun 09:48

Grimora 1.3 (build 2026062601)

Version 1.3 makes finding and organising cards faster across all your devices.

  • Refine searches by tapping cards or selecting oracle text to include or exclude what you want — and hide terms you never want to see again
  • Build precise queries with a new advanced search form and live, colour-coded Scryfall syntax right in the search field
  • Search across every collection at once and see matching cards highlighted on the dashboard
  • Lists are now Collections, with add, create and move-category actions on the card itself plus quick category reordering
  • Pinch to zoom the card grid and resize the collections dashboard on iPad
  • Star favourites from search results, scrub through price history, and jump from any card to all of an artist's art
  • A guided walkthrough helps new players get started, replayable any time from Settings
  • iCloud is now the single source of truth, ending the repeated sync prompt and keeping card counts accurate across devices

Submitted to App Review for macOS, iOS/iPadOS, and visionOS (build 2026062601).
