Quick Start

1. Download and extract Chess-Engine-v1.0.3-windows.zip.

2. Open the extracted Chess Engine folder.

3. Double-click:

   Chess Engine.exe

A separate Java installation is not required.

Stockfish 18 remains optional and is not bundled.

The v1.0.3 Windows artifact was verified for:

• ZIP integrity
• Direct Chess Engine.exe launch
• Bundled JVM operation with Java removed from PATH
• Clean application shutdown
• Tablebase loading and four-piece routing
• Verification of all 36 tablebases
• Optional Stockfish 18 discovery
• Stockfish forced-mate verification
• Strict package-file allowlist
• Absence of developer-machine paths
• No source, IDE, temporary, or unrelated build artifacts
• No loose top-level JAR or ICO as the primary launch target

Desktop verification was performed locally rather than in a fresh Windows VM. The previously recorded expensive regression suite was not repeated for this artifact recovery.
