Latex Suite Extension 0.0.4

Auto-close $

Typing $ now inserts $|$ with the cursor in the middle. A second $ upgrades the
empty pair to display math $$|$$. Typing $ right before a closing $ steps over it
instead of doubling it, and typing $ with a selection wraps it in $...$. Escaped \$
and $ inside code/comments are left alone. Toggle under "Math rendering > Auto-close $".

Solve

  • Enhancing expression detection for evaluation.

Fixes

  • Display math is no longer corrupted by the inline-math brace guards: the Obsidian 1.13
parser tokenizes the two dollars of $$ separately, which made the plugin mistake
display delimiters for inline ones and inject visible {} into $$...$$ blocks.
  • Wrapping a selection with $ (Obsidian's built-in auto-pair) works again; the new
auto-close feature no longer intercepts it.

Latex Suite Extension 0.0.3

Solve

  • Quadratic equations: x^2+2x+1\solve gives both solutions (x_{1,2}=-1), including complex ones for a negative discriminant (x^2+2x+2 → x_{1,2}=-1\pm i). Works with an explicit = (x^2+2x=-1), Greek unknowns, fractional coefficients, and linear equations.
  • Degrees: input like \tan 49.2^\circ is converted from degrees, and angle results are shown in degrees (\theta_c=\sin^{-1}(\frac{1}{1.52}) → 41.1395^\circ), but only when the variable is angle-named (\theta, \phi, ...), so r=\sin^{-1}(...) stays a plain number. Angle names and degrees/radians output are configurable.
  • More notation: \cfrac, inverse functions (\sin^{-1} = arcsin, \sin^{2}(x) = (sin x)²), and Unicode characters from pasted text (× − · ÷ π).
  • Multi-line equations: the whole $$...$$ block up to \solve is read, not just the current line.
  • Fixes: tiny results like 1.62·10⁻¹⁵ no longer collapse to 0; \approx counts as = when splitting equation chains; unsolvable leftovers are refused with a notice instead of echoed back.

Settings

  • New options: solve angle unit, angle variable names.

Latex Suite Extension 0.0.1

An Obsidian plugin that extends Latex Suite with seven features.

Features

  • Flicker-free inline math: no flickering while typing inside $...$.
  • Tolerant math rendering: $ x + y $ (spaces inside the dollars) and $ $ (empty) render as math; editing them gets full Latex Suite support and the text self-heals to standard $x$.
  • RTL math text: $\he{שלום}$ / \ar{...} for Hebrew/Arabic inside math, with configurable fonts (default: David CLM) and an Arabic letter-joining fix.
  • Automatic keyboard switching (macOS desktop) — the system keyboard follows the cursor: note language outside math, English inside $...$, Hebrew/Arabic inside \he{}/\ar{}. Requires im-select.
  • Display style everywhere: inline math renders in \displaystyle without typing it.
  • \solve: evaluates the last expression of an equation chain: k_1=\frac{200}{40}\solvek_1=\frac{200}{40} \quad \to \quad k_1=5.
  • Built-in snippets — in math, he\he{|}, ar\ar{|}, sol\solve.
