@SifuInTheShell SifuInTheShell released this 20 Oct 07:26

Effigy 0.2.0: picture upscale and redraw, your own 3D models, IK targets and poles in the animation editor, and the first AMD GPU support.

What's new

  • Upscale or redraw a 2D picture at any size (M61). Keep parts of it unchanged with a mask.
  • Bring your own model (M62): import a textured model, bake its own textures, then rig and animate it like a generated one.
  • IK in the animation editor (M63): the armature is drawn the way Blender draws it, with IK targets and poles you can drag and pin. The IK controls are saved with the clip.
  • AMD GPU support, the Fast engine only (contributed by @LukeLikesGit in #9): an AMD Radeon RX 9070 / 9070 XT on Windows. run.bat recognises the card and installs the AMD (ROCm) environment by itself. Not on AMD yet: Faithful, the character chain, motion from text or video, and other AMD cards. Details: docs/howto/amd-rocm-windows.md.
  • run.bat now writes run.log next to itself: which GPU it found and, on AMD, the install's output. Include it when you report a problem.
  • Refreshed README, SETUP, MANUAL and the agent guide.

Requirements

  • Windows 11.
  • NVIDIA: an RTX 40 or 50 series card with 16 GB of VRAM and driver 575 or newer. 12 GB works for the Fast engine, best effort.
  • AMD: an RX 9070 or 9070 XT, with the Fast engine only.
  • 32 GB of RAM recommended.
  • 70 to 160 GB of disk, mostly models. You pick which ones to download.

Install

  1. Download Effigy-v0.2.0-win64.zip below.
  2. Right-click it → Properties → tick Unblock.
  3. Unpack it to a short path such as C:\Effigy.
  4. Double-click run.bat.

Updating from 0.1.0: unpack the new zip into the same folder and replace files when asked. Your library\, models\, Python and Blender stay, and run.bat installs only what changed.

The step-by-step guide is SETUP.md; every page of the app is explained in MANUAL.md.

Licence: MIT. The Blender scripts in blender_ops/ are GPL-3.0-or-later and run as a separate process. Model licences are listed in licenses.yaml and on the app's Licences page.

@SifuInTheShell SifuInTheShell released this 14 Oct 22:19

The first public release of Effigy: a local game-asset pipeline. A sentence or a picture becomes a textured, rigged, animated 3D model, plus 2D sprite sheets and pixel art, on your own NVIDIA GPU. Nothing goes to the cloud.

What it does

  • 3D from a description or a picture: four concepts, each checked for 3D; a clean A-pose redraw; a textured model.
  • Game-ready in one click: cleaned, simplified, UV-unwrapped, PBR-baked and checked.
  • Auto-rig: the skeleton is fitted and the skin weights painted.
  • Animation: 178 ready-made moves, motion from a sentence (text-to-motion) or from a video, and a built-in animation editor with IK, onion skins, motion paths and curves.
  • 2D: sprite sheets from your 3D moves, pixel art with a fixed palette, and a pixel editor.
  • Export to Godot, Unreal, Unity, the web and 3D printing.
  • Commercial-clean: every model and tool allows commercial use of what it makes, and each export carries its credits and licences.

Requirements

  • Windows 11 with NVIDIA driver 575 or newer.
  • An NVIDIA RTX 40 or 50 series card with 16 GB of VRAM. 12 GB works for the Fast engine, best effort.
  • 32 GB of RAM recommended.
  • 70 to 160 GB of disk, mostly models. You pick which ones to download.

Install

  1. Download Effigy-v0.1.0-win64.zip below.
  2. Right-click it → Properties → tick Unblock.
  3. Unpack it to a short path such as C:\Effigy.
  4. Double-click run.bat.

run.bat downloads Python, PyTorch, Blender and the models you choose into that folder. Nothing is installed system-wide, and uninstalling means deleting the folder.

The step-by-step guide is SETUP.md; every page of the app is explained in MANUAL.md. The parts that aren't ready yet are listed in SETUP.md under "What's not ready yet".
