TagForge is designed with a Zero-Trust Architecture.
- Encryption: Keys are secured using a machine-specific, hardware-salted XOR layer.
- Cross-Platform: This security model works natively on Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Device Locking: Keys are tied to your specific hardware profile. Your data remains protected even if the raw configuration files are accessed by unauthorized software.
You can Import or Export your full chat and generation history from the Settings panel. This uses the .tfb format for portable, compressed backups.
If you need to wipe all configurations or resolve technical issues:
- Navigate to the Settings panel.
- Click the Reset Settings button.
- Confirm the action.
Warning
This will wipe all API keys, custom configurations, and history logs. Use the Export History tool before resetting if you wish to keep your data.
If you cannot open the application, you can manually reset by deleting the data folder:

Location:
~/.tagforge/(User Home directory)
