What's changed

  • Fixed SD playback metadata handling so embedded artist/title tags trigger album-cover lookup, with the filename retained as a fallback.
  • Preserves the last valid SD track across restarts and safely resets an invalid stored index.
  • Improved CoverArt fallback lookup and coordination with stream changes.
  • Added further DLNA playlist and background-worker stability fixes.
  • Added an experimental ESP32-WROVER-E N16R8 compatibility package with its own PlatformIO configuration, example myoptions.h and setup guide.
  • Added target-specific PSRAM allocation, wake-mode and GPIO safeguards while keeping the primary ESP32-S3 build unchanged.

ESP32-WROVER note

The ESP32-S3 N16R8 remains the recommended and fully supported target. The classic ESP32-WROVER build is experimental: its WebUI can be slow during playback, and HTTPS streams may fail when the TLS handshake cannot obtain enough contiguous internal RAM.
