Custom Rules Guide

When built-in rules do not meet your needs, or the target website has tightened its firewall policies, you can manually optimize rules using these steps.

1. Investigation using ITDog

Before adjusting rules, it is recommended to visit ITDog Website Ping, enter the target domain, and check international (especially US, HK) resolution results.

Case A: Resolution results are on Cloudflare (CF)

If the resolved IP belongs to Cloudflare CDN:

  • Optimization Strategy: Use ECH (Encrypted Client Hello).
  • Action: In the SniShaper rule edit interface, find the ECH page and one-click add to the rule.

Case B: Independent IP or non-CF Nodes

If the resolution result is a fixed IP:

  • Optimization Strategy: Manually specify the upstream IP and combine with SNI modification.
  • Action:
    1. Get the overseas IP.
    2. In Rule settings, fill the IP into the "Upstream Address" field.
    3. Use MITM mode and modify the SNI for access.

2. Advanced Mode Selection

Blocked Domain Fronting? — Use TLS-RF

If the target website has disabled Domain Fronting:

  • Solution: Switch to TLS-RF (TLS Fragmentation).

Support for HTTP/3? — Use QUIC Direct

If the target site supports QUIC (confirm via https://http3check.net/):

  • Solution: Switch to QUIC Direct mode.
  • Advantage: QUIC has natural anti-interference characteristics and reconnection mechanisms, providing a more stable connection experience.

Tip

Rule adjustments take effect in real-time after clicking "Save Config". No software restart is required.
