SpaceCorps 2027 0.2.1
SpaceCorps 2027 0.2.1 keeps itself up to date, adds an About screen, and fixes the repair drone.
The game plays on the public server https://spacecorps-game.sliplane.app. Your pilot, ships and items carry over.

What's new
Updates from inside the game
- New versions download in the background and install when you click Restart to Update, or when you quit the game.
- Settings › About has Check for Updates and two switches: check automatically, and download and install automatically. Both are on by default.
- The game installs only updates signed by SpaceCorps whose checksums match. It tests a new version before keeping it, and if the new version doesn't start, it puts the old one back.
- During a flight nothing interrupts you. Restart to Update asks first.
About
- Settings › About shows the game's version and build, the engine version, the server you play on and its version, and links to the website, release notes and Discord.
- The start screen shows the version in the bottom-left corner. Click it to open About.
Fixes
- The repair drone repairs again. Before, it did nothing after a launch until something changed your loadout in flight. Now:
- the REP slot glows while repairing, counts down after a hit, and is dimmed when the drone is fitted in your other configuration;
- you get a message when repairs start, stop, finish, are interrupted by a hit, or can't start and why;
- small hulls repair at the full rate.
- Clicking text no longer leaves the selection following your cursor.
- Switching to another app in the middle of a drag cancels the drag. It no longer drops the item or clicks a button.
- A hotbar slot dragged off the bar is cleared every time, also when the second row was hidden.
- The Discord link points to the community's new invite.
Updating from 0.2.0
0.2.0 can't update itself. It shows that 0.2.1 is out; download it once from the download page and replace the old app or folder. From 0.2.1 on, the game updates itself. Your account and settings are kept.
On macOS, keep the game in Applications. A game started from the disk image or from Downloads can't replace itself, and Settings › About says so.

First launch
The builds are not signed by Apple or Microsoft yet, so your system asks once before it opens the game.
- macOS: open the dmg and drag SpaceCorps 2027 onto Applications.
- macOS 15 and newer: open the app once and click Done. Then go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway next to "SpaceCorps 2027 was blocked".
- macOS 12 to 14: right-click (Control-click) the app, choose Open, then Open again.
- Or run
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/SpaceCorps 2027.app"in Terminal.
- Windows: right-click the zip, choose Extract All, and start
spacecorps2027.exefrom theSpaceCorps 2027folder. Theassetsfolder must stay next to it. If SmartScreen says it "protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway. - Linux: run
chmod +x SpaceCorps2027-linux-x86_64.AppImage, then start it. If your system has no FUSE, run it with--appimage-extract-and-run, or unpack the tar.gz and startSpaceCorps2027/spacecorps2027.
Updates the game installs itself don't ask again.
Known issues
- The builds are unsigned, so macOS Gatekeeper and Windows SmartScreen warn on first launch (see above).
- Updating from inside the game was tested end to end on macOS. On Windows and Linux it is covered by automated checks only, so please report anything that goes wrong.
- There is no Windows installer. Use the zip and keep the
assetsfolder next to the game. - Below 1024×640 the default HUD windows can overlap the hotbar dock. Move them, or use a larger window.
- Fullscreen from the HUD button works on macOS only. On Windows and Linux, use your window manager's fullscreen.
- There is one public game server with limited capacity. It may restart for updates, and your ship is saved when it does.
