SpaceCorps 2027 0.4.15 is the Skylab update: when your Core reaches level 10 a bridge builds a second Core with six module seats, and two new modules, the Ammo Printer and the Rocket Factory, plug into it. The Quantum Laser III is now crafted from a Quantum Laser II, and the Ship window shows your Penetration.

The game plays on the public server https://spacecorps-game.sliplane.app. Your pilot, ships, items, credits, clan and world carry over.

What's new

Highlights

  • A bridge and a second Core at Core level 10. The Core's step from level 9 to 10 costs 2,000 Thulium on top of its 38,443 Credits. When it finishes, a bridge builds Core 2 with six module seats and the Solar Array moves to Core 2's far end. The Skylab page draws it and labels the free seats; a quiet sound and a toast tell you when the bridge is built.
  • New module, the Ammo Printer (levels 1 to 20), prints laser ammo from nothing: x2 (Advanced Plasma) 100 an hour at level 1 and 2,000 at level 20, x3 (Ultra Core) half of that, x4 (Experimental Fusion Core) a quarter. You pick one at a time.
  • New module, the Rocket Factory (levels 1 to 20), builds any of the twelve Shop rockets (Lancet, Rivet, Scatter and Ember, tiers I to III): a tier III rocket 0.5 an hour at level 1 and 10 at level 20; tier II is 1.25 times as fast, tier I twice.
  • Both are 3D modules on Core 2: five looks over their 20 levels, scaffolds and drones while they upgrade, and a sheet with the mode, storage, Collect and Upgrade.
  • Fix: the Quantum Laser III is crafted from a Quantum Laser II (a Shop item) besides 10 Ship Fragments, 2 Velkonite Reinforced Plates and 1,500 Thulium. Its least price in the Auction rises to 210,000 Credits (170,000 before), the Starfire-III's to 470,000 (430,000).
  • The Ship window shows your Penetration. A fourth chip, after the shields' share, reads the laser amps' share of the configuration you fly in whole percent: the number the Hangar's Penetration tile shows (0% without a Penetration Amp; it follows a configuration swap). To make room the Config and Speed chips show their icon and number only; hover them for the names. The tooltip says what penetration is and that a hit is capped at 50% for lasers and 40% for rockets.

If you already play: what changes for you

  • Update the game. A 0.4.12, 0.4.13 or 0.4.14 game installs it as a patch, and downloads the whole package if the patch cannot be used. A 0.4.11 or older game downloads the whole package.
  • At Core level 10 or higher you have the bridge and Core 2 at your next look, free. Nothing is stored for them; the Solar Array keeps its level, power and upgrade.
  • The 2,000 Thulium is paid by the step into level 10 only: an upgrade already running keeps its price, and a Core at level 10 or higher pays nothing.
  • Solar makes more power from level 7 (965 at level 7, 17,890 at level 20; levels 1 to 6 as before), so a full station stays covered. At the first start a producer that stood dark for want of power under the old table, and is powered under the new one, runs again from then; the dark time is not counted. Nothing that ran stops.
  • The new recipe applies to crafts you start after the update; a craft under way is not changed, and open listings keep their price.
  • The Ship window's Penetration chip needs the update, not a server change: the number is the one the Hangar's tile already gets from the server.
  • A 0.4.14 game keeps working but draws the plain old station: no bridge or Core 2, the Solar Array on Core 1, and no card for the Printer or the Factory, so it cannot build, switch or collect them. The step into level 10 shows 2,000 Thulium and works. Update before you build.

The Ammo Printer and the Rocket Factory

  • Build. Both stand on Core 2 (Printer north-east, Factory north-west), so you build them from Core level 10; before that the Build button says "Needs Core 2". A build costs 20,000 Credits, 500 Thulium and Ship Fragments (10 for the Printer, 15 for the Factory). Their levels follow your Core's. All 19 upgrades: Printer 22,011,000 Credits and 47,440 Thulium, Factory 5,527,300 and 11,994.
  • Storage and Collect. A module keeps up to 24 hours of what it makes, offline hours too, and stops when full; switching the mode counts the hours stored at the new mode's rate. Collect with your ship parked, in whole units: ammo has no carry limit, a rocket stops at your carry stack and the rest stays. What they make cannot be listed in the Auction. They draw Solar power and can be switched off.

For administrators and the server

  • At the first start: one new table (SkylabProduction, empty) and one data step (skylab-solar-v4); the backup gate prints 2 lines. The bridge needs neither. Three data files change; the new route is POST /api/skylab/mode/:type/:mode. No new counter or environment variable.

Updating

  • From 0.4.14, 0.4.13 or 0.4.12: the game downloads a patch by itself. Click Restart to Update, or quit the game, and it installs. If a patch cannot be used the game downloads the whole package.
  • From 0.2.1 to 0.4.11: the game downloads the whole package. If you installed the game with Hangar, Hangar updates it.
  • From 0.2.0: download it once from the download page and replace the old app or folder.
  • What the update does to your account: nothing is paid, moved or removed. Your Skylab modules stay where they are.
  • A 0.4.15 game on a 0.4.14 server (a private server) plays, but shows no bridge, Core 2, Ammo Printer or Rocket Factory.

Platforms

Package For
SpaceCorps2027-macos-universal.dmg macOS 12 Monterey or later, Apple silicon and Intel
SpaceCorps2027-windows-x86_64.zip Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit
SpaceCorps2027-linux-x86_64.AppImage Linux x86_64, glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 36 and later), Vulkan
SpaceCorps2027-linux-x86_64.tar.gz the same Linux build, as a folder to unpack

Graphics need Metal (macOS), DirectX 12 or Vulkan (Windows), or Vulkan (Linux, Mesa 22 or a vendor driver). The game needs 4 GB of RAM at the least and 8 GB is recommended: measured on a Mac for 0.4.6, the game's footprint in flight peaked near 3 GB at Low and near 4 GB at High. It needs 400 MB of free disk space. On computers with 8 GB, Medium or Low uses noticeably less memory than High.

First launch

The builds are not signed by Apple or Microsoft yet, so on a first install your system asks once before it opens the game. Updates the game installs itself don't ask again.

  • macOS: open the dmg and drag SpaceCorps 2027 onto Applications.
    • macOS 15 and newer: open the app once and click Done. Then go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway next to "SpaceCorps 2027 was blocked".
    • macOS 12 to 14: right-click (Control-click) the app, choose Open, then Open again.
  • Windows: right-click the zip, choose Extract All, and start spacecorps2027.exe from the SpaceCorps 2027 folder: the whole game is in that one file. If SmartScreen says it "protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.
  • Linux: run chmod +x SpaceCorps2027-linux-x86_64.AppImage, then start it. Or unpack the tar.gz and start SpaceCorps2027/spacecorps2027.

Known limits

  • The new modules were tested with scripts, a real server and a headless game, not in a long session of play. Nobody has watched an Ammo Printer or a Rocket Factory fill over a day in the live game, or used the bridge with a real Skylab that grew into it.
  • Their prices and rates come from a model and have not been balanced by play. The prices are set so that a module never gives you Shop-priced ammo or rockets faster than a Thulium Farm gives you the Thulium to buy them. A level 20 Printer at x2 makes 48,000 ammo a day, which the Shop values at 24,000 Thulium, and a level 20 Thulium Farm makes 38,400 a day. Whether that feels right is for play to say.
  • Four of Core 2's six seats stay empty. No module is made for them yet.
  • Not in this update: crafting several recipes at once, the clan features, the new ranking and the ships rework are still being built.
  • The patches are still new: on 2026-10-08 the Windows patch of 0.4.14 (from 0.4.13) had been downloaded twice and the others not at all. We have not checked each kind on a real machine one by one; the game falls back to the whole package when anything is wrong.
  • The new texts in the other languages have not been read by native speakers. Every new or changed sentence of this release in German, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Swedish and Simplified Chinese was written by AI. Please tell us what reads wrong.
  • The other limits of 0.4.14 still stand: a queued technology that cannot start waits for you, levels 7 and 8 of the asteroid missions send you to the Danger Sectors, and Thulium listings can be very cheap. The builds are unsigned (see above). There is one public game server with limited capacity; it may restart for updates, and your ship is saved when it does.
