Release list
Pigment v0.2.1 | User requested Features
User @Xolyhah on youtube requested the following features to be added
"Preset Mods" | yes Pigment is going to be bloated blah blah blah whatever, this is prob going to be for a more user friendly experience.
"Rejoin from Activity Tab" | Quite a useful feature I lowk overlooked, though there have been reports of Pigment not sending you to the right server.
This release also includes several minor miscellaneous updates. Additionally, Debian users, please report on how Pigment is performing on your end. Thank you!
v0.2.0 — app id is now net.pigmentlab.Pigment
Breaking: the application ID changed
Pigment's app ID is now net.pigmentlab.Pigment (was org.pigment.Pigment).
Flathub requires the reverse-DNS app ID to use a domain the project controls. We control pigmentlab.net; we do not control pigment.org — so the old ID was not eligible for Flathub and would have been rejected. The new ID matches the homepage and the developer ID already declared in our AppStream metadata.
The pigmentlab and pigment-launch commands are unchanged.
What this means when you upgrade
The D-Bus name, desktop file IDs, and icon names all move to the new ID. Reinstalling re-creates them, with one manual step:
- Re-enable the default launcher once — Home → Make Pigment the default launcher. The old
roblox://registration points at a desktop ID that no longer exists, so Roblox links will fall back to Sober until you re-enable it. - If you installed natively, the old
org.pigment.Pigment.desktop,org.pigment.Pigment.Launcher.desktopandorg.pigment.Pigment.pngicons are left behind by the old install and can be deleted from~/.local/share/.
Verified
Workspace builds, 48 tests pass, metainfo and both desktop files validate, and the Flatpak builds, runs, and still reaches Sober on the host via flatpak-spawn (detects Sober 1.7.1).
Pigment 0.1.2
Adds Flatpak packaging (sandbox-aware: drives Sober via flatpak-spawn --host) and AppStream metadata for Flathub. Install on Arch via pigment-launcher; build the Flatpak from packaging/flatpak/.
Pigment 0.1.1
Renames the GUI binary from pigment to pigmentlab to avoid a file/name collision with an unrelated pigment package on the AUR. The pigment-launch protocol handler and the org.pigment.Pigment app-id are unchanged.
Install on Arch via the AUR: pigment-launcher (this release) or pigment-launcher-git (latest main).
Pigment 0.1.0
First release of Pigment — a Roblox launcher and manager for Linux that drives the Sober runtime (Settings, Profiles, FastFlags, Mods, opt-in roblox:// handler).
Install on Arch via the AUR: pigment (this release) or pigment-git (builds latest main).
