Release list
AltStable Forever edition 0.16.0
Old characters can be forgotten in bulk, AltStable can wear Glass UI's look, and AltStable Companion
leaves beta with v0.1.0. Measured on client 1.60.1.70450. Nothing changes on the sync wire, so
v0.16.0 syncs with v0.11.0 to v0.15.0. Settings sync needs v0.14.0 or later on both accounts.
AltStable Companion
The Roster's character portraits come from AltStable Companion, a free Windows app that turns
your /alts portrait captures into the transparent cutouts the scene draws (and can enhance them).
Without it, the scene has no one to show, and a capture is only two screenshots. Get it from
AltStable Companion releases.
Companion v0.1.0 is out, the first that is not a beta. A portrait that enhancing leaves
alone now says why on its row (hidden in an account, below level 4, or a record missing its
race, gender or class), and the Settings page scrolls, so its options can be reached in a small
window.
New
- Forget old characters from one list
(#260). A deleted character, or the record a
transfer leaves behind, used to stay in the sheet and in your gold total until you forgot it by
name. Options now has an Old characters section that lists every character nobody has played
in a number of days (90 to start; change it in the box). The character you are on is never
listed.- Every row starts ticked. Untick the ones to keep, then press Forget. AltStable asks once,
naming the characters and the gold that leaves your totals. - The list shows eight characters at a time; Next shows the rest. Only the characters on
screen are forgotten. - With settings sync on, they are forgotten on your other accounts too, and the question says so.
- Nothing is ever forgotten on its own. A character you log into again comes back, as with
/alts forget. /alts stale[days] lists the same characters in chat, without forgetting any.
- Every row starts ticked. Untick the ones to keep, then press Forget. AltStable asks once,
- AltStable follows Glass UI
(#262). With Glass UI installed, AltStable
wears the Glass suite's look: its Pearl glass, its tint and its accent, and it is listed on Glass
UI's page beside the Glass addons. Untick Use Glass UI appearance there for AltStable to get
your own skin back; AltStable keeps it saved meanwhile. While it follows, the appearance rows in
AltStable's Options show what Glass UI set, and/alts skinpoints to Glass UI. A change made in
Glass UI shows in AltStable after a/reload. Without Glass UI, nothing changes.
AltStable Forever edition 0.15.0
A fourth skin, Reflective, and AltStable on Wago Addons. Measured on client 1.60.1.70450. Nothing
changes on the sync wire, so v0.15.0 syncs with v0.11.0 to v0.14.0. Settings sync needs v0.14.0 or
later on both accounts.
AltStable Companion

your /alts portrait captures into the transparent cutouts the scene draws (and can enhance them).
Without it, the scene has no one to show, and a capture is only two screenshots. Get it from
AltStable Companion releases.
There is no new version since v0.10.0.
New
- A Reflective skin (#249), beside Clear
and Smoked: a smoked shell lit from above, with a highlighted rim and title bar, and near-solid
panes behind the text. It is the most readable of the skins over bright scenery, at the cost of
most of the see-through glass. Pick it in Options > Skin, or with/alts skin reflective, and
reload. Clear stays the default. - AltStable is on Wago Addons too. Each release now goes to CurseForge, Wago Addons and
GitHub, and the GitHub release carries what
WowUp needs to install it from there.
Changed
- An install updated straight from v0.10.0 or older pairs its accounts again
(#236). Its old Battle.net pairing is no
longer brought over; the accounts find each other again once both are online. From v0.11.0 on,
nothing changes.
AltStable Forever edition 0.15.0-alpha1
A fourth skin, Reflective, and AltStable on Wago Addons. Measured on client 1.60.1.70450. Nothing
changes on the sync wire, so v0.15.0 syncs with v0.11.0 to v0.14.0. Settings sync needs v0.14.0 or
later on both accounts.

AltStable 0.14.0
A cleaner glass, settings that follow you between your accounts if you want them to, and a sheet
that can drop its realm groups. Measured on client 1.60.1.70374. Characters sync as before, so
v0.14.0 syncs with v0.11.0, v0.12.0 and v0.13.0. Settings sync needs v0.14.0 on both accounts.

New
- Clean glass (#230), now the default:
thin rims, no grain, softer shading and a lighter shadow. Clear and Smoked glass keep their own
colour and opacity. To go back to the glass you had, set Look to Classic in Options and
reload. - Settings sync between your own accounts
(#229). Off by default: tick Sync
settings and forgotten characters with your other accounts in Options, on each account.- It carries the appearance (skin, glass, look, accent, scale), toasts and mail alerts, the
sheet options, and your hidden and favourite characters. - These go as four groups: appearance, alerts, sheet options, and hidden and favourite
characters. The group changed last replaces that whole group on your other accounts, so
changing only the accent on one account brings its skin along too. - A character you forget on one account is forgotten on the others too, and bringing it back
works the same way. - A changed skin or look still waits for a reload. Chat says so when one arrives.
- It never touches the sync settings themselves, the window's position, the camera or
portraits.
- It carries the appearance (skin, glass, look, accent, scale), toasts and mail alerts, the
- The sheet without realm groups
(#228). Untick Group characters by realm
in Options to see one list sorted as a whole. A Ruleset column (PvE, PvP, RP, HC) after
Race then shows where each character is.
Fixed
- A forgotten character that is still played comes back
(#226). Forgetting a character on one account
used to refuse it there for good, even while you kept playing it on another account, so it
never synced again, portrait included. Now, if it has been played since you forgot it, it comes
back with its next sync, and chat says so. A deleted character stays forgotten.
AltStable 0.13.0
Forever's launch raids in the Raids tab, a key binding, and glass in your class colour. Measured
on client 1.60.1.70338. Nothing changes on the sync wire, so v0.13.0 syncs with v0.11.0 and
v0.12.0.
AltStable Companion

your /alts portrait captures into the transparent cutouts the scene draws (and can enhance them).
Without it, the scene has no one to show, and a capture is only two screenshots. Get it from
AltStable Companion releases.
There is no new version since v0.10.0.
New
- Forever's launch raids in the Raids tab
(#17): Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and
Onyxia's Lair, each with its own art.- The raids show even before any of your characters is level 60.
- Hover a raid's name to see its bosses.
- Once a character is saved to a raid, hover their cell to see each boss as Killed or
Not killed. AltStable learns the names from the lockout itself. If it cannot be sure, it
shows the progress ("3/8") alone rather than guess. - The Vanilla raids are not in at launch. Their rows come back on their own once a character
is saved to one.
- A key binding: Key Bindings > AltStable > Open or close AltStable.
- Glass in your class colour: in Options, set Glass to Class colour. The main window's
glass takes a darkened shade of the class colour of the character you are on. It applies after a
reload, and only on the glass skins.
AltStable 0.12.0
Opt-in automatic portraits, and enchants in words on the Roster. Own-account sync now runs only
through LibAccountSync. Measured on client 1.60.1.70334.
v0.10.0 and older no longer sync with your other Battle.net accounts. Update every account
to v0.11.0 or later; v0.11.0 and v0.12.0 sync with each other. Whisper sync with whitelisted
characters is unchanged.
There is no new version since v0.10.0. Every place that takes a portrait now says that it needs the
Companion.
New
- A new portrait when your look changes, if you want one
(#124). Off by default: turn on
Offer a new portrait when your look changes in Options, or type/alts portrait auto on.- When you change a visible piece of gear, a toast appears above the chat:
"New portrait in 5 minutes". Click it to take the portrait now, or the X to skip that look. - After a few seconds it shrinks to one line. The camera button to its left hides it and brings
it back. - When the countdown ends, it waits for a quiet moment before taking the portrait: two seconds
standing still, out of combat, not typing. - Alt+drag the camera button to move the toast. Alt+right-click puts it back.
- It never offers while you are dead, and it never asks you to reload afterwards.
- When you change a visible piece of gear, a toast appears above the chat:
- Enchants in words on the Roster
(#94). A character's audit lists each
enchanted slot with its enchant, such as "Stamina +2". To also see the enchant beside each
gear slot, turn on Show enchants beside the gear slots on a Roster character in Options.
Enchants sync with your other accounts. Each character shows its enchants once you have logged
it in on v0.12.0.
Removed
- The old Battle.net sync channel
(#206). Since v0.11.0, your accounts sync
through LibAccountSync, and the old channel only stayed for accounts on v0.10.0 and older.
AltStable 0.11.0
Your own accounts sync through a shared library, the showcase no longer breaks Quit, and
AltStable's questions are its own windows. Measured on client 1.60.1.70245. The old sync wire
still runs, so v0.11.0 syncs with v0.10.0, v0.9.0 and v0.8.x.
AltStable Companion
The Roster's character portraits come from AltStable Companion, a free Windows app that turns
your /alts portrait captures into the transparent cutouts the scene draws (and can enhance them).
Without it, the scene has no one to show. Get it from
AltStable Companion releases.
There is no new version since v0.10.0: the newest one still finds your game by itself.
Fixed
- Quit works after AltStable asks you something
(#199). Copying the
/alts statusline, forgetting a character, or a sync request could leave the game unable to
quit ("AddOn 'AltStable' tried to call the protected function"). Those questions are now
AltStable's own windows, not the game's shared dialogs.- They show above the sheet and the showcase. Escape closes the question, not the sheet.
- Two at once sit one under the other, never on top.
- They stay out of
/alts portraitcaptures.
Changed
- The camera showcase lets the game talk to you
(#199). A party invite, a ready check or
a loot roll now brings the game's interface back, while the sheet and the camera stay. The
interface stays up until you close the sheet. Combat, logging out or a loading screen close the
sheet as well as ending the showcase. - Your own other accounts sync through LibAccountSync
(#198), the library AltStable's Battle.net
sync became. Nothing to set up: two accounts that already synced over Battle.net pick it up by
themselves, and/alts bnetshows which accounts are on it. An account still on an older
AltStable keeps syncing the old way.
Under the hood
- AltStable now embeds three shared libraries: LibGlass (the glass look), LibShowcase (the
camera showcase) and LibAccountSync (your own-account sync). Other addons may carry newer
copies of them; the newest one installed is the one that runs.
