Wayfinder Alpha v0.3.16
Wayfinder 0.3.16 Alpha
Waypoint names should explain the work, not merely report that work continued.
This patch applies Wayfinder's concrete-title rule consistently across every
current collector.
Improved
- Codex, Claude Code, and TRAE CN waypoints now avoid generic labels such as
"optimize current task", "continue current task", "implement current task",
and "advance Wayfinder". - When a broad category would produce an empty label, Wayfinder uses the
specific task named in the prompt. - TRAE CN continuations still prefer a concrete completed result, changed
filename, or prior topic when the new prompt contains no useful subject.
Privacy And Compatibility
- This release does not change stored conversations or require a data
migration. - Wayfinder remains local-first, with no account, telemetry, cloud sync, or
cloud analysis. - TRAE CN collection remains Early Access and currently validated on macOS.
- Codex and Claude Code collection remains available on macOS and Windows.

Wayfinder Alpha v0.3.15
Wayfinder 0.3.15 Alpha
Wayfinder can now keep TRAE CN conversations beside Codex and Claude Code
history in the same local project map. This release also replaces vague
waypoint names with short descriptions of the actual goal or result.
New
- Collects completed TRAE CN conversations automatically while Wayfinder and
TRAE CN are running. - Backfills available TRAE CN history and pairs each message with verifiable
local snapshot changes using its stable turn identity. - Keeps each native TRAE conversation in one voyage, with branches reserved
for evidence-backed changes in direction.
Improved
- Waypoint titles now name the concrete task or outcome. Empty labels such as
"optimize current task", "continue current task", and "implement current
task" are rejected. - A continuation with no useful prompt inherits the prior concrete topic or
uses the completed result or changed filename. - TRAE history no longer produces a fan of unrelated root branches.
Privacy And Compatibility
- TRAE CN collection is Early Access and currently validated on macOS.
- Wayfinder reads TRAE messages through the running app's loopback-only local
session service and watches its local workspace and snapshot data. - Normalized replay data stays under
~/.wayfinder/trae-runtime/. - Wayfinder does not modify TRAE's conversation database or send transcripts
to a Wayfinder cloud service. - Codex and Claude Code collection remains available on macOS and Windows.

Wayfinder Alpha v0.3.14
Wayfinder 0.3.14 Alpha
This release removes the last external runtime requirement from the desktop
collection path and tightens evidence, performance, and release safeguards.
Highlights
- Runs desktop collection without a system Node.js or Git installation.
- Rejects textual nonzero tool exit codes before recording file-change facts.
- Skips transcript-content hashing when file metadata and Cowork context are
unchanged. - Keeps the visible project selected until a requested project finishes
loading. - Recovers interrupted Hook configuration updates on the next install attempt.
- Fails CI when the Chromium UI regression suite cannot run.

Wayfinder Alpha v0.3.13
Wayfinder Alpha 0.3.13
Wayfinder now restores compatible local AI history that already existed before
installation, then keeps the same history current in the background.
What's new
- Backfills active and archived Codex sessions.
- Backfills Claude Code and Claude Cowork sessions.
- Keeps sessions without an available project folder in one general
collaboration map. - Watches supported local history locations for later changes.
- Preserves stable session provenance and avoids duplicate turns when Codex
moves a transcript into its archive.

Wayfinder Alpha v0.3.12
Wayfinder 0.3.12 Alpha
This release closes cross-platform collection, lifecycle, compatibility, and
distribution gaps found by a full repository review and adversarial recheck.
Highlights
- Dispatches installed Claude Code and Codex hooks through the bundled
companion runtime with no external Node.js dependency. - Preserves repeated turns and upgrades partial rollover records using stable
host turn identities instead of prompt-text guesses. - Rejects failed tool output before deriving file facts, and merges Hook and
transcript evidence without duplicate voyage nodes. - Handles transcript replacement, truncation, case-only renames, Windows file
sharing errors, and host configuration rollback. - Keeps final successful outcomes out of failure analysis and bounds
long-history voyage parent lookup without dropping the structural-semantic
optimum. - Restores macOS 12 WebKit fallbacks, visible keyboard focus, narrow-window
actions, search framing, and stale project-request behavior. - Requires successful CI and latest-main release refs, validates release
checksums, and installs the Windows NSIS package to verify its x64 sidecar.
Verification
- JavaScript and Chromium suite: 186 tests.
- Rust companion suite: 9 tests.
- ESLint, TypeScript, Clippy, npm audit, and cargo audit passed.
- Browser checks cover 220px, 320px, short landscape, and desktop viewports.
- Release gates build Apple Silicon, Intel macOS, and Windows x64 artifacts.
Wayfinder Alpha v0.3.9
Wayfinder 0.3.9 Alpha
This patch release closes two navigation edge cases found during the final
adversarial review of the unified voyage experience.
Fixes
- Clears the selected waypoint and bottom detail sheet whenever the active
project changes, including keyboard-driven and automatic project switches. - Keeps same-named Skill definitions from different folders as independent
voyages by using their source paths as stable internal identities. - Keeps a renamed Skill in its existing voyage when its source path has not
changed.
Release Safety
- Serializes production website deployments and blocks older versions or stale
main commits from replacing the current site. - Makes the public Windows smoke test read the website release manifest and
verify the installer againstSHA256SUMSbefore installation.
Verification
- JavaScript and Chromium suite: 105 tests.
- Rust companion suite: 6 tests.
- Apple Silicon, Intel macOS, and Windows x64 assets verified against the
published SHA-256 checksums.
Wayfinder Alpha v0.3.8
This release makes project navigation visible, stable, and easier to
understand while aligning Wayfinder's public positioning with its broader AI
collaboration mission.
Highlights
- Shows every voyage from one folder on the same project map.
- Keeps the current voyage expanded and the others visible as color-coded
coastal entries that expand in place. - Replaces the generic folder glyph with a route-aware project icon whose
color follows the active voyage. - Uses direct D3/tldraw-style trackpad transforms for continuous, reversible
pan and zoom in WKWebView. - Reworks waypoint details as a bottom Peek Sheet that closes with its close
button, Escape, or a click outside. - Removes map search and reset controls that duplicated direct canvas
navigation. - Clarifies that Wayfinder is for AI collaboration across conversations,
research, writing, design, coding, and other project work. Codex and Claude
Code remain the current early-access collectors.
Verification
- JavaScript and Chromium suite: 103 tests.
- Rust companion suite: 6 tests.
- Desktop, 220px, 320px, and short-landscape rendering.
- Apple Silicon, Intel macOS, and Windows x64 release assets verified against
the published SHA-256 checksums.
Wayfinder Alpha v0.3.11
Wayfinder 0.3.11 Alpha
This release hardens local collection, voyage grouping, desktop lifecycle, and
short-window map behavior.
Highlights
- Preserves Codex commentary until the final answer so later tool and file
evidence is not lost during incremental collection. - Normalizes macOS path aliases, rejects project-external paths, and keeps
rename, delete, and round-trip file identities truthful. - Improves cross-tool handoffs, source/test matching, deterministic ordering,
and long-history parent lookup without an arbitrary candidate cutoff. - Prevents stale project reads from replacing the last successfully loaded map.
- Uses stable lock identities, rechecks stale locks before reclaiming them, and
terminates the complete collector process group on timeout or shutdown. - Keeps short landscape maps vertically framed and restores the exact viewport
after the right-side inspector closes. - Adds macOS and Windows CI coverage plus public-site security headers.
Verification
- JavaScript and Chromium suite: 160 tests.
- Rust companion suite: 9 tests.
- ESLint, TypeScript, Clippy, npm audit, and cargo audit passed.
- Browser checks cover 320x568, 812x375, 1080x720, and 1440x900.
- Clean macOS and Windows builds are verified by GitHub Actions before release.
Wayfinder Alpha v0.3.10
Wayfinder 0.3.10 Alpha
Wayfinder is a local-first desktop app that turns work with AI into a visual
history of how a project reached its result. It keeps goals, alternative
attempts, failures, decisions, validation, and artifacts connected instead of
leaving them scattered across separate chats.

- Windows x64
Highlights
- Groups related Codex and Claude Code sessions into project voyages.
- Keeps failed and successful branches visible on the same map.
- Replays file changes only when the source session contains a real edit.
- Opens waypoint evidence in a responsive right-side inspector without
covering the selected route. - Preserves the current map viewport while opening and closing details.
- Stores the complete collaboration history locally under
~/.wayfinder.
Verification
- JavaScript and Chromium suite: 105 tests.
- Rust companion suite: 6 tests.
- Visual checks at desktop, 320px portrait, and short-screen landscape sizes.
- Apple Silicon, Intel macOS, and Windows x64 assets verified against the
