WorkNix 1.0 Release
WorkNix is a portable Unix workstation system inspired by SunOS, implemented entirely in Java. This release provides a complete Unix-like environment with both command-line and graphical interfaces.
System Requirements
- Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 11 or higher
- 256MB minimum memory
- Any operating system that supports Java

Installation
- Download
worknix-1.0.jar - Run in terminal mode:
java -jar worknix-1.0.jar
- Run in GUI mode:
java -jar worknix-1.0.jar --gui
First Boot
On first run, WorkNix will:
- Show the OpenBoot prompt (can be interrupted with ESC)
- Run system setup wizard
- Configure root password
- Create initial user account
- Set system hostname and timezone
Default Credentials
- Root account:
root/root - Change passwords after first login
