@github-actions github-actions released this 14 Oct 03:57

Canvas Studio+ v3.2.2 — Reopen & Edit

made by SuprixZ

Built on Material Frames v3.2.1. All eleven material-backed frames and Living Gallery features remain.

Reopen, unlock and edit saved paintings (v3.2.2)

A saved or locked painting remains editable by its owner or an administrator. Place it on the wall, then Shift-right-click it to reopen. You can also hold the saved painting map in either hand and Shift-right-click in the air.

For locked paintings, the reopening menu offers:

  • Edit keeping locked: change the artwork while retaining owner/admin protection.
  • Unlock & edit: the server immediately makes the existing painting publicly editable and opens a fresh editor session. No new canvas or frame material is used.
  • Cancel: leave the painting as it is.

Draw, import, resize or adjust animation, then choose Save edited painting. Wall edits update that same placed painting; no item frame or breaking/replacing is required. In Studio menu → Display / access, choose Lock painting on save or Unlock painting on save. Only the owner/admin can change access; public editors cannot take ownership or relock another player's art.

Unlocking preserves the painting's name, pixels, animation map IDs, wall dimensions, display layout and frame material. Keeping the same frame remains free; changing it uses v3.2.1's one-material rule. The server checks the bound hand/painting/revision/session and invalidates the old capability after a successful unlock. If persistence fails, the original item and lock stay intact.

Compatibility and validation

Existing saved maps, placed paintings, animation sequences, frame IDs, CSP1–4 projects and CSA1 gallery data remain supported. No crafting recipes or item textures changed. Network protocol 8 requires matching v3.2.2 client/server editions.

The opening menu makes the existing owner-edit permission explicit, and adds an immediate server-authorized unlock operation. The native map artwork stays fixed; unlocking changes player access. Already saved items gain the new controls when reopened. New saves include a tooltip describing Shift-right-click editing.

Release gates: all 17 Java verification suites, packaged artifact checks, default/endpoint builds, published-family API/range audit, and fresh headless-server startup/save/stop. The new suite covers owner/admin access, relocking, immutable persistence/failure behavior, preserved art/display/map metadata, source reload, revision overflow, both hands/wall packet codecs and stale capabilities.

No interactive client rendering, live player inventory transactions, multiplayer lock workflows or actual placed-painting edit/save were tested. These remain preview releases; see the attached validation report and logs for executed results.

This download targets Minecraft 26.2 / NeoForge 26.2.x, including betas. The other Minecraft family requires its separate JAR. Future API changes require renewed verification.

@github-actions github-actions released this 14 Oct 03:45

Canvas Studio+ v3.2.1 — Material Frames

made by SuprixZ

This preview updates Living Gallery with eleven frames that require real inventory materials. All v3.2.0 painting, import/export, wall editing, 8×8 placement, animation, ownership, gallery, item-finder and Kurlo Pillow features remain.

Material frames in v3.2.1

Choose a frame in Studio menu → Display / access, then save the painting. Applying or changing a frame consumes one matching resource from your inventory, hotbar or off-hand. This cost is per painting, independent of wall size and animation length.

Frame Required material (one)
Wood Any item in Minecraft's wooden-planks tag
Stone Stone (not cobblestone)
Copper Copper Ingot
Iron Iron Ingot
Gold Gold Ingot
Amethyst Amethyst Shard
Lapis Lapis Lazuli
Diamond Diamond
Emerald Emerald
Quartz Nether Quartz
Netherite Netherite Ingot

The editor shows the cost and whether you have the resource. The server validates and spends it only after a successful save. Missing material rejects the save and leaves your canvas/painting and resources intact. Cancelled/failed requests spend nothing. Creative mode follows the same material requirement.

Keeping an existing frame while editing, resizing, recoloring or changing animation does not charge again. Old v3.2.0 frames keep their IDs/colors and remain usable. Selecting None removes the frame for free; removed/replaced frames do not refund items. Reapplying a removed frame costs again. Frame material is not required just to place or pick up an already framed painting.

CSP projects and gallery entries retain the selected frame design, but they are not proof of payment. Saving them as a new framed painting requires its material. Publishing to the gallery and local previews/exports do not create a framed item and have no charge.

Appearance, compatibility and safety

Seven new material colors join the existing wood/gold/iron/diamond borders. Existing frame IDs and colors are retained. Borders remain inside the artwork bounds and use decorative geometry rather than new crafting items. No canvas/quill/pillow crafting recipes changed.

The server checks build permission, ownership, bound sessions, wall space and drawing data before invoking the material payment transaction. It checks the inventory before creating maps and spends one resource only after persistence and painting replacement succeed. Both hands and direct wall edits use the same path; completed upload replay guards remain in place.

Use matching v3.2.1 editions on client/server (network protocol 7). Existing CSP formats 1–4, maps and gallery files remain readable. CSP4/CSA1 keep their layouts with frame IDs extended to 0–11; older releases cannot open the new frame IDs, so back up before upgrading and avoid downgrading.

Validation

Release gates: all 16 Java suites, packaged JAR checks, default/endpoint NeoForge builds, published-family API/range audit and a fresh headless dedicated-server startup/save/stop. The new suite exercises the production payment transaction with real vanilla ItemStacks, every frame/resource and old/new transition, inventory/off-hand positions, missing/wrong materials, failed-save retention, exact consumption, free edits/removal, legacy appearance and file/network codecs.

No interactive client rendering or live player/multiplayer inventory transactions were tested. These are preview builds. See the attached validation report and logs for executed results.

This download targets Minecraft 26.2 / NeoForge 26.2.x, including betas. Use the separate JAR for the other Minecraft edition. Metadata accepts future family builds, but future compatibility needs verification.

Canvas Studio+ 3.2.0 — Living Gallery / Minecraft 26.2

@github-actions github-actions released this 13 Oct 13:40

Canvas Studio+ v3.2.0 — Living Gallery

made by SuprixZ

Living Gallery adds all seven requested features and access to Minecraft's existing paintings while retaining the v3.1.2 editor, 8×8 wall sizes, item finder, crafting progression and Kurlo Pillow.

Placement and wall editing

Holding a locked map gives a translucent world preview with green/red support and collision feedback. It is local-only, non-pickable and never saved to the server world. Server permissions remain authoritative.

Shift-right-click a placed Canvas Studio painting to edit it directly. The server binds the session to the wall entity, dimension, hand, map identity, revision and a 20-minute deadline. Saving creates new map data and updates that entity; other copies retain their previous art. Invalid or obstructed resizing leaves the original painting in place.

Display and access controls

Studio menu → Display / access selects Stretch, Fit or Crop and optional Wood, Gold, Iron or Diamond cosmetic borders. Fit preserves the square artwork's proportions within the physical rectangle; Crop fills the area by trimming source edges. Borders remain inside the painting bounds and require no extra crafting ingredients.

New paintings receive a server-owned creator UUID. Public paintings permit editing; locked paintings permit only the owner or an administrator with gamemaster permission to edit, rotate or remove them as a player. Only owners/admins may change the lock. Native environmental drop rules are retained.

Animation and project files

Studio menu → Animation supports up to 16 frames, each retaining up to 16 editable layers and its fitted reference image. Add blank/copied frames, change the selected frame, delete, undo frame operations, preview playback and choose 0.5/1/2/4/8-second intervals. The fastest playback is 2 FPS, matching the bounded native-map synchronization design.

Animations use native locked map data and loop on the server clock. The item's small map-ID sequence persists and synchronizes; original palette frames are retained in the world's studio folder for later editing.

CSP format 4 stores animation/layer data and display settings, with an 8 MiB file cap. Formats 1–3 still import as static projects, retaining version-3 wall dimensions. Format 4 is not readable by older mod versions.

Minecraft painting imports

Studio menu → Minecraft paintings reads the active painting registry and texture resources. Search by name/asset ID and import any available registered painting PNG into the active layer. Vanilla artwork is read from the installed game/resource packs, never bundled in the mod.

Hold a Canvas Studio canvas and Shift-right-click an existing vanilla painting to copy its registered texture into the editor. The original entity remains in place. Imported art uses Minecraft map colors and the normal 128×128 per-frame raster, with the variant's dimensions capped at 8×8.

The automated asset checks convert all 51 built-in painting textures. Missing/unavailable modded textures are omitted; resource-pack texture animation is not automatically converted into an editable timeline.

Shared server gallery

Studio menu → Server art gallery supports browsing, publishing the current artwork, importing a selected entry and owner/admin deletion. Publishing shares flattened palette frames and display settings, not local paths, full-resolution files or editable layers. It creates no item reward and consumes no canvas. Imported artwork can be saved using a held canvas or authorized edit session.

Entries persist in the server world's studio folder. Limits are 64 entries per artist and 1,000 per world; enableServerGallery can disable the gallery. Each source file is bounded, uses managed IDs and rejects unsafe symlink targets. Include the studio folders in world backups alongside vanilla map data.

Validation and compatibility

Transfers send one bounded 16 KiB palette frame per packet, under Minecraft's serverbound payload limit. Incomplete, reordered, duplicate, expired, changed-header and unauthorized uploads are rejected before a save. Completed uploads are replay-guarded; wall revisions reject stale edits.

Release gates include 15 Java verification suites, packaged artifact checks, default/endpoint builds, published NeoForge binary API/range audits and fresh headless server readiness/save/stop. New tests cover ownership, edit capabilities, transfer limits, all fit/layout sizes, actual rendering geometry, animation layers/CSP migration, gallery storage reload and native painting import.

No interactive Minecraft rendering, multiplayer gameplay or actual placed-painting save/reload was tested. Headless geometry and a ready dedicated server do not prove visual/gameplay behavior. Read the attached validation report and logs.

Use matching v3.2.0 client/server editions: network protocol 6 replaces protocol 5. Separate downloads target Minecraft 26.3/NeoForge 26.3.x and Minecraft 26.2/NeoForge 26.2.x, including beta builds. Future family builds are accepted by metadata, with future API changes requiring verification.

@github-actions github-actions released this 12 Oct 16:10

Canvas Studio+ 3.1.0 — Creative Studio

made by SuprixZ — Minecraft 26.2, NeoForge 26.2.x, Java 25.

Adds redo, shape/eyedropper/mirror/scatter tools, grid/snap/zoom, palette presets, shortcuts, 16 editable layers, local .csp projects and sharing, gallery/recovery, palette and wall previews, searchable offline catalogue with favorites/history and supported modded textures, per-item Infinity usage limits (unlimited by default), and editing held saved painting maps.

Shift-right-click one held locked painting map in the air to edit it. Saving creates a new map in the same hand; other copies retain the original. Use projects to preserve layers.

Molten remains one successful exchange per canvas and independent of Infinity limits. Existing item IDs, recipes, textures and paintings are preserved. A dedicated Canvas Studio+ creative tab contains all seven items. Network protocol 4 requires matching client/server versions.

Automated builds, regression checks and published-version API audit gate this release. No interactive Minecraft or multiplayer tests were performed. Read attached validation and README for limits, configuration and controls. Full GPU model capture and 3D room rendering are not included.

Remove older Canvas Studio JARs before installing. The 26.3 edition is a separate download.

Adds frameless wall paintings: right-click a vertical wall with a locked painting map, then break it to recover the painting under normal survival/entity-drop rules. Placed paintings persist as a custom hanging entity.

Adds reusable Kurlo Pillow: eight White Wool surrounding one Enchanted Golden Apple. Hold it in either hand throughout a full sleep to receive the game's enchanted golden apple status effects on normal morning wake-up. Early or interrupted sleep grants nothing.

Both features are server-controlled. Automated tests cover their policy and game data; live placement, save/reload and sleep were not tested interactively.
