Canvas Studio+ 3.2.0 — Living Gallery / Minecraft 26.3
Pre-releaseCanvas Studio+ v3.2.0 — Living Gallery
made by SuprixZ
Living Gallery adds all seven requested features and access to Minecraft's existing paintings while retaining the v3.1.2 editor, 8×8 wall sizes, item finder, crafting progression and Kurlo Pillow.
Placement and wall editing
Holding a locked map gives a translucent world preview with green/red support and collision feedback. It is local-only, non-pickable and never saved to the server world. Server permissions remain authoritative.
Shift-right-click a placed Canvas Studio painting to edit it directly. The server binds the session to the wall entity, dimension, hand, map identity, revision and a 20-minute deadline. Saving creates new map data and updates that entity; other copies retain their previous art. Invalid or obstructed resizing leaves the original painting in place.
Display and access controls
Studio menu → Display / access selects Stretch, Fit or Crop and optional Wood, Gold, Iron or Diamond cosmetic borders. Fit preserves the square artwork's proportions within the physical rectangle; Crop fills the area by trimming source edges. Borders remain inside the painting bounds and require no extra crafting ingredients.
New paintings receive a server-owned creator UUID. Public paintings permit editing; locked paintings permit only the owner or an administrator with gamemaster permission to edit, rotate or remove them as a player. Only owners/admins may change the lock. Native environmental drop rules are retained.
Animation and project files
Studio menu → Animation supports up to 16 frames, each retaining up to 16 editable layers and its fitted reference image. Add blank/copied frames, change the selected frame, delete, undo frame operations, preview playback and choose 0.5/1/2/4/8-second intervals. The fastest playback is 2 FPS, matching the bounded native-map synchronization design.
Animations use native locked map data and loop on the server clock. The item's small map-ID sequence persists and synchronizes; original palette frames are retained in the world's studio folder for later editing.
CSP format 4 stores animation/layer data and display settings, with an 8 MiB file cap. Formats 1–3 still import as static projects, retaining version-3 wall dimensions. Format 4 is not readable by older mod versions.
Minecraft painting imports
Studio menu → Minecraft paintings reads the active painting registry and texture resources. Search by name/asset ID and import any available registered painting PNG into the active layer. Vanilla artwork is read from the installed game/resource packs, never bundled in the mod.
Hold a Canvas Studio canvas and Shift-right-click an existing vanilla painting to copy its registered texture into the editor. The original entity remains in place. Imported art uses Minecraft map colors and the normal 128×128 per-frame raster, with the variant's dimensions capped at 8×8.
The automated asset checks convert all 51 built-in painting textures. Missing/unavailable modded textures are omitted; resource-pack texture animation is not automatically converted into an editable timeline.
Shared server gallery
Studio menu → Server art gallery supports browsing, publishing the current artwork, importing a selected entry and owner/admin deletion. Publishing shares flattened palette frames and display settings, not local paths, full-resolution files or editable layers. It creates no item reward and consumes no canvas. Imported artwork can be saved using a held canvas or authorized edit session.
Entries persist in the server world's studio folder. Limits are 64 entries per artist and 1,000 per world; enableServerGallery can disable the gallery. Each source file is bounded, uses managed IDs and rejects unsafe symlink targets. Include the studio folders in world backups alongside vanilla map data.
Validation and compatibility
Transfers send one bounded 16 KiB palette frame per packet, under Minecraft's serverbound payload limit. Incomplete, reordered, duplicate, expired, changed-header and unauthorized uploads are rejected before a save. Completed uploads are replay-guarded; wall revisions reject stale edits.
Release gates include 15 Java verification suites, packaged artifact checks, default/endpoint builds, published NeoForge binary API/range audits and fresh headless server readiness/save/stop. New tests cover ownership, edit capabilities, transfer limits, all fit/layout sizes, actual rendering geometry, animation layers/CSP migration, gallery storage reload and native painting import.
No interactive Minecraft rendering, multiplayer gameplay or actual placed-painting save/reload was tested. Headless geometry and a ready dedicated server do not prove visual/gameplay behavior. Read the attached validation report and logs.
Use matching v3.2.0 client/server editions: network protocol 6 replaces protocol 5. Separate downloads target Minecraft 26.3/NeoForge 26.3.x and Minecraft 26.2/NeoForge 26.2.x, including beta builds. Future family builds are accepted by metadata, with future API changes requiring verification.
