Anno 117 Mod Manager v1.5.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Taludas Taludas released this 12 Aug 12:47

What's included

Bug Fixes:

  • fix the issue, where Windows defender flags the app's exe as a trojan virus, by changing packaging from --onefile to --onedir. This means, that the installation process changed from previous versions! Read the updated installation instructions!

New Features:

  • Native multi-profile support - saved presets are now real, switchable profiles inside the game's own mods/profiles/ folder, instead of copies kept on the side. Switching profiles in the app now mirrors what the game's internal modloader will do from game version 2.0 onwards.
  • Profiles now carry a display name - every profile the app creates or saves is tagged with its name, in accordance to the new syntax included by update 2.0 of the game, so it shows up and is recognized correctly once the game ships its own mod manager in the future.

Installation

  1. Download the latest Anno117ModManager.zip from the Releases page.
  2. Extract it anywhere - Anno 117 Mod Manager.exe and the _internal folder next to it belong together, so keep the extracted folder intact.
  3. Double-click Anno 117 Mod Manager.exe to launch. No installation needed.

For users, that experienced continued "First startup"/"Moved Documents Folder" behaviour, it might be necessary to delete the settings.json from the %appdata%/Roaming/Anno 117 Mod Manager folder and do one last "First startup".

Known limitations

  • Windows only for the packaged exe. Linux users can run from source - see the README. Linux users, please report back if the app is working natively on Linux as I couldn't test it.
  • Localisation might have issues with too long texts for certain windows/buttons. Readjust the window size to resolve and please report back for fixing. If you are a native speaker, please have a look at the language files and contribute wrong/incomplete localisation.

Anno 117 Mod Manager v1.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Taludas Taludas released this 30 May 12:24

What's included

New Features:

  • Open in Mod.io button - Activation tab right panel now shows a mod.io icon button for any subscribed mod that opens the mod's website on mod.io
  • Preset in-place save - The preset Save button now performs an in-place overwrite with automatic backup of the previous version when you add/remove mods from the current list. Button label switches contextually between "Save" and "Save As New".
  • Auto-search - Mod Browser and Collections search bars now trigger automatically after 3 characters are typed (600 ms debounce).
  • New per-field reset button in the Tweaking tab - The individual option reset button in the Tweaking tab resets only the one Option to its default value.
  • New feature to suppress the "!" update badge warning on mod.io mods that carry a version mismatch between the locally found version in the modinfo.json and the mod.io version number - right click the "!" badge and select the option to suppress the update warning. The mod is then added to a whitelist you can review in the Settings tab and will no longer show the "!" badge after a reload of the modlist. Clear the whitelist with the "Clear suppressed" button in the Settings tab.

Improvements:

  • Exact mod.io navigation - Clicking the mod.io icon in a mod row now navigates the Mod Browser to that exact mod via its mod.io ID, rather than a name-based text search.
  • Increase visibility of the update warning badge in the Activation tab (!): Slightly increased size; gold background with black icon and larger hitbox.
  • Post-install version re-check - After installing an update via the "!" badge or reinstall button, the mod.io version check reruns after 5 seconds to automatically remove the badge if the update was successful.
  • Added all officially used filters on mod.io to the Mod Browser tab.

Bug Fixes:

  • Labels and Descriptions on the Tweaking tab's right panel now support longer texts (correct line break) and also update consistently after selecting a value.
  • Category alignment - Mods missing a category label no longer cause misalignment in the activation list rows.
  • Fixed Linux startup behavior and gamepath discovery

Anno 117 Mod Manager v1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Taludas Taludas released this 09 Apr 20:00

Anno 117 Mod Manager - v1.1.0

What's included

  • Update badges - At startup the app now checks mod.io for newer versions of your installed mods. A gold ! appears before a mod's name when an update is waiting. Clicking it directly starts the reinstall - no detour through the browser needed. The badge clears as soon as you confirm.
  • mod.io origin icon - Mods installed from the browser now show a small teal dot (●) in the activation list. Click it to jump straight to that mod in the browser.
  • Reinstall button in the mod info panel - You can now reinstall a subscribed mod directly from its right-side info panel, left of the Unsubscribe button.
  • Gear icon opens Tweaking tab - Clicking the gear icon in a mod row now takes you directly to that mod's options in the Tweaking tab.
  • "Vanilla" preset - A new built-in preset above Default lets you deactivate everything in one click.
  • Settings tab scrollbar - The settings page is now scrollable, so nothing gets cut off.
Auto-activate is now a dropdown with three choices: always on, always off, or follow current state (keeps the mod active if it was already active - handy for reinstalling updates).
  • Relocated Documents folder support - If your Windows Documents folder lives on a different drive, the app now finds it automatically or asks you to point it to the right place.
  • mod.io sync - when you have subscribed to a mod outside of the manager but the local file is installed, the subscribed state is switch automatically in the Mod Browser. If you are subscribed outside of mod.io, but no local mod can be found, a "!" is added in the Modbrowser's Mod Tile to warn you about it. Same if you have the local mod folder installed, but are no longer subscribed on mod.io.
  • News Tab for Updated mods now shows their changelog - The tile for an updated mod in the News Tab now shows its changelog instead of the short feature description.

Bug fixes:

  • Settings "Open Config Folder" and "View Debug Log" buttons no longer crash with a recursion error
  • Mod browser and Collections tab now show correct counts (51 of 412 instead of 1 of 51)
  • Mod browser can now correctly scroll and load past 200 tiles - the Tkinter 32,767 px canvas limit is bypassed with virtual scrolling; same applied proactively to the Collections tab
  • Load More button in the Mod Browser and Collections tab now works reliably across all page loads
  • Fixed reoccurring "first start" / mod.io setup prompt behaviour caused by use_mod_browser not being persisted to settings.json on early saves
  • Activation tab icon alignment fixed: gear, warning, mod.io badge and update badge all start at the same horizontal position regardless of which combination is shown
  • Gear icon in activation tab now navigates directly to that mod in the Tweaking tab on click
  • Warning icons (conflict, missing dependency, deprecated) are now informational only - no hand cursor, no navigation on click
  • Clicking the gold ! update badge directly triggers reinstall instead of navigating to the browser; badge disappears immediately on confirm and a background re-check updates remaining badges after install
  • Reinstall button in the right info panel (and the ! badge) now correctly reinstalls the selected mod instead of the last mod downloaded from the browser - caused by a stale _pending_modio_mapping from a previous browser install
  • subscription_map.json corruption (two local mods sharing the same mod.io ID) is now prevented: _store_modio_mapping removes stale duplicate entries before writing, and _subscribe_to_mod skips the fuzzy-match step when run_install_logic has already set a precise mapping
  • Endorsed button in the Mod Browser now shows the correct icon in full colour immediately after clicking, without requiring a browser reload
  • Switching to an older preset no longer leaves newly installed mods active - _apply_preset_with_full_coverage now writes an explicit entry for every installed mod, commenting out any not listed in the preset
  • Collection follow now correctly creates and activates the collection preset even when all collection mods were already installed locally
  • Unfollowing a collection with "Remove Mods" now reliably finds and deletes the correct local folders using the subscription map instead of fuzzy name matching
  • Tag filter now works correctly when the "Followed" filter is active in the Collections tab
  • Sorting in the Activation tab no longer misplaces mods whose status is absent from the profile - the default active state is now correctly resolved as a boolean instead of the raw tri-state string
  • Loading a preset (from the dropdown or file picker) now covers all installed mods, preventing mods installed after the preset was saved from being implicitly active in-game
  • Improve Load Order code to accurately reflect what the results are in the mod.loader.log

Installation

Download Anno117ModManager.exe below, place it anywhere and run it. No installation required.

For users, that experienced continued "First startup" behaviour, it might be necessary to delete the settings.json from the %appdata%/Roaming/Anno 117 Mod Manager folder and do one last "First startup"
