Using this mods variables
So, you want to use this mod. This guide will introduce you to the different variables you can use to control the GPS, AV terminal and AC.
This variable is connected to the mod No GPS Under Water, who's script are added to this mod. This script can be activated by going into the mission folder for the mission, and create an initPlayerLocal.sqf-file, if you don't have one already.
Inside that file, you want to add this line of code:
[{(eyePos player select 2) < -0.5}, {call NGUW_fnc_blockingSignals;}] call CBA_fnc_waitUntilAndExecute;
This will create an CBA wait until and execute function, who will wait until the player are under the water level, and when they are, it will call for the function NGUW_fnc_blockingSignals, who will add the variable TMAST_GPSunderWater to the player, with the value true and at the same time add a check to see if the player are above the water level, and if so, it will set the variable to false and add another cba wait until and execute function checking for if the player goes under the water. Creating a script loop.
If you don't add this line, you can still use the variable TMAST_GPSunderWater, who should be used as an boolean, to control if the gps should be blocked or not.
If set to true, it will block the different screens, if set to false or nil, it will be cleared again.
This variable works only on players, and it need to be added to the player on their machine. You can add it easily by making it a public variable.
Represent jamming, signals blocked by other signals, often from a conscious action, but sometime an unconscious action. This is the second highest priority variable. It’s a Boolean variable, where the variable can either be true or false.
Since the script controlling the different screens are local scripts, you need to send the variable to the player who you want to be affected by this variable, an easy way is to set the variable on the player unit and make it a public variable.
target setVariable ["TMAST_GPSjammed", true, true];
Represents signal shadow and structural impact on the signal from satellites, when landscape or structures may block, degrade and reflect the signal sent from the satellite. This variable supports these two values, beside false or nil. "Multipathing" and "Multipathing". This variable with the blocked value is the third highest priority variable, meanwhile this variable with the multipathing value is the sixth highest priority variable.
target setVariable ["TMAST_GPSshadow", "Blocked", true];
target setVariable ["TMAST_GPSshadow", "Multipathing", true];
Connected to "TMAST_GPSshadow" when using the value "Multipathing", you have a connected variable "TMAST_GPSShadowData", this variable controls the shift in position during multipathing.
You don't need to define this variable, since it will default to the array [1337,69] if its not defined, but if you want to have some control, then you should also define this variable to the player character.
The value of this variable is an array, where the first argument is meter from the original position the shifted position should be, and the second argument are the direction from the original position.
target setVariable ["TMAST_GPSShadowData", [meter,dir] , true];
Represents scintillation, and this is when satellite signals may be blocked or degraded by the particles from the sun. This variable supports these two values, beside false or nil. "Blocked" and "Multipathing". This variable with the blocked value is the fourth highest priority variable, meanwhile this variable with the multipathing value is the seventh highest priority variable.
target setVariable ["TMAST_GPSscintillation", "Blocked", true];
target setVariable ["TMAST_GPSscintillation", "Multipathing", true];
Like as"TMAST_GPSshadow" when using the value "Multipathing", you have a connected variable "TMAST_GPSSscintillationData" who lets you control the shift in position, and like before, you don't need to define the value as its will default to the array [670,67] if nothing is given to that variable.
But if you want to control the shift, then you should also define this variable to the player character.
The value of this variable is an array, where the first argument is meter from the original position the shifted position should be, and the second argument are the direction from the original position.
target setVariable ["TMAST_GPSSscintillationData", [meter,dir] , true];
This represents for example when the instrument receiving the signal is hacked, or the signal sent to the receiver is spoofed. This variable supports these two values, beside false or nil. "TargSpoofing" and "LocSpoofing". This variable with the TargSpoofing value is the eighth highest priority variable, meanwhile this variable with the LocSpoofing value is the ninth highest priority variable.
target setVariable ["TMAST_GPShacked", "TargSpoofing", true];
target setVariable ["TMAST_GPShacked", "LocSpoofing", true];
This variable has two connected variables, based on what value it has. The connect variable to TMAST_GPShacked when it has the value TargSpoofing is "TMAST_GPSHackedData".
This variable like the others has an fallback value, but for best experience, I recommend defining this value with an object. (It can work with a 3D position if you don't have a specific object).
target setVariable ["TMAST_GPSSscintillationData", spoofingVarObject, true];
If TMAST_GPShacked has the value LocSpoofing instead, then the connected variable is "TMAST_GPSSpoofedData", who like the variables before has an fallback value. This fallback value is the array [313,67].
So this variable when defining its value is also an array containing two arguments, where the first argument is the distance from the original position and the second value is the direction the shifting is happening.
target setVariable ["TMAST_GPSSpoofedData", [meter,dir] , true];
This variable is a joker or wildcard. What this variable do is that it hides the GPS screen. Just that, nothing more. So if you want to hide the GPS screen for the players, and only that, and give them still the time, coordinates and direction. Then this variable are something for you.
This variable should be used like a boolean, and support true and false as its value.
This variable is the fifth highest priority variable in the check.
target setVariable ["TMAST_HideGPS", true , true];
