FlashCoin Core 0.1.1 — Maintenance & Packaging Update

FlashCoin Core 0.1.1 is a small but important maintenance and quality update on top of 0.1.0.

This release focuses on:

  • 🧹 Cleaning remaining Bitcoin-branded assets and documentation
  • 🪟 Improving the About dialog with FlashCoin-specific info
  • 📦 Adding an automated Windows wallet packaging script to simplify new releases

🔁 Overview of Changes

1️⃣ Branding & Repository Cleanup

This release removes leftover Bitcoin references that were no longer relevant for FlashCoin:

  • Deleted unused Bitcoin shell completions and dev tools:
    • contrib/completions/bash/bitcoin-*.bash
    • contrib/completions/fish/bitcoin-*.fish
    • contrib/devtools/bitcoin-tidy/*
    • contrib/devtools/gen-bitcoin-conf.sh
  • Removed old Bitcoin documentation and examples:
    • doc/bitcoin-conf.md
    • doc/man/bitcoin*.1
    • share/examples/bitcoin.conf
  • Removed legacy Bitcoin icons and pixmaps:
    • share/pixmaps/bitcoin*.png
    • share/pixmaps/bitcoin*.xpm
    • share/pixmaps/bitcoin.ico
  • Removed unused Qt resources:
    • src/qt/res/src/bitcoin.svg
    • src/qt/locale/bitcoin_*.ts (old Bitcoin translation source files)

✅ Result: a cleaner repository focused on FlashCoin, with fewer obsolete or confusing files.

2️⃣ Updated About Dialog for FlashCoin

The About dialog has been customized to show FlashCoin-specific information instead of generic Bitcoin Core text.

It now includes:

  • Client name and full version: FlashCoin Core x.y.z
  • A short description of the project:

    FlashCoin is an experimental, open-source digital currency focused on very fast confirmations.

  • Core consensus parameters:
    • ⏱ Target block time: 3 seconds
    • 💰 Initial block reward: 5 FLASH
    • 🔁 Subsidy halving interval: 5,000,000 blocks
  • A clear “as is” disclaimer about software usage and risk.
  • License information rendered as HTML, with:
    • URLs automatically turned into clickable links
    • Newlines converted to <br> for better readability

The same information is also available in plain text form for -version / console usage.

3️⃣ New Windows Wallet Packaging Script

A new PowerShell script has been added to streamline Windows wallet packaging:

  • Script: package-wallet.ps1
