Changes since 1.0.2

  • The order of the inactive mods (by name or by category) and the layout of the load order (under category headings or one numbered list) are kept after a restart (#28).
  • Clicking a button in the View card, or in any other popup, no longer also clicks or drags the mod underneath (#28).
  • Scroll bars stay visible and are wide enough to grab. In a list of hundreds of mods, the scroll thumb keeps track of where you are (#12).
  • Saving the load order no longer reports ModsConfig.xml as changed outside RimStack (#34).
  • The filter's suggestions keep their keys and descriptions apart at any text size, and long descriptions end with an ellipsis. Labels on the first-run screen and in the About and Files tabs no longer run into their values at larger text sizes (#25).
  • Windows: a RimWorld settings folder reached through a symlink made without /D is now found, whether typed in Settings or found automatically. A settings folder typed as its own Saves or Config folder is taken as the folder above it (#3).
  • macOS: the game's code is found for RimWorld 1.7 and for the 1.6 app bundle, so mods are filed as Interface or Performance & tweaks there too (#40).

The programs are not signed yet, so Windows and macOS warn the first time. The files are fine; this gets past it once.

Windows: SmartScreen says "Windows protected your PC": choose More info, then Run anyway. For the zip, right-click it, choose Properties, tick Unblock, then extract. If Smart App Control is on (Windows 11), it blocks unsigned programs with no way past it except turning Smart App Control off.
macOS: drag RimStack to Applications and open it once. Then open System Settings, Privacy & Security, scroll down and choose Open Anyway next to RimStack. If macOS says the app is damaged, run this in Terminal: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/RimStack.app
Linux: make the AppImage executable (chmod +x) and run it.
