Some time has passed and we finally have a stable firmware release!
Reliable bus reads!
The overall software setup was suboptimal, and we were losing quite a large amount of bus activity in the process.
Now it's been reworked and it can cleanly withstand tight inc, out loops of hand-crafted x86 assembly even on faster Pentium MMX machines without missing a beat!
In addition, since the ISA bus is a lot faster than one might think, we applied a bit of overclocking (330 MHz, baby!) to give us some more headroom.
We trust it enough that port 80h reader is now the default option at startup. You can still exit that mode and enter something else at runtime, or by powering PicoPOST externally via USB instead of supplying power just via the ISA slot.
Reset pulse detection
We are finally reading activity on the RESET pin, even if it's a bit bouncy. We may need to experiment with hardware or software debouncing later on, but hey! at least it's giving you some R! and R_ action on the display.
Miscellaneous
- Some optimization in OLED refresh routines, so it's a bit more responsive
- Fully dropped -12V reading, hardware is unfortunately incapable of dealing with negative voltages...
