πŸŽ‰ 2026.041 - UnleashedCreativity Lights

UnleashedCreativity Lights 2026.041 is a minor release focused on setup clarity and user-facing diagnostics.
This release fixes target selector behavior under live status updates and improves version/diagnostic visibility.

🌟 What’s New in 2026.041

  • Fixed target CAN-ID selector behavior where the UI could flick back to previously saved values during live status updates
  • Target changes now remain stable while edits are pending Save Config
  • Added a clear diagnostics line when target CAN-ID edits are unsaved

βš™οΈ Under the Hood

  • Leaner protocol/UI path with removed legacy ToS flow
  • Simpler runtime model by dropping startup-mode/startup-timeout branches
  • Cleaner and safer config-apply behavior under active LED loop conditions

πŸ‘€ Before You Update

  • Built for VESC Express / ESP32-C3
  • Requires VESC firmware 6.05+
  • After changing target CAN-IDs, click Save Config to persist and clear pending-edit diagnostics

  • Removed Terms of Service flow and related protocol hooks
  • Removed startup mode and startup timeout controls
  • Non-running behavior now defaults to idle mode
  • Compressed UI settings payload to used parameters only
  • Updated CAN timing defaults:
    • refloat-poll-interval -> 0.75
    • ucl-peer-poke-interval -> 2.0
    • ucl-announce-interval -> 3.0
    • refloat-quiet-grace -> 15.0
    • ucl-fwd-source-freshness -> 2.0
  • Forwarded lights replay is now tied to CAN loop frequency
  • Improved LED watchdog handling on Save Config to prevent duplicate loop overlays

βš™οΈ Under the Hood

  • Leaner protocol/UI path with removed legacy ToS flow
  • Simpler runtime model by dropping startup-mode/startup-timeout branches
  • Cleaner and safer config-apply behavior under active LED loop conditions

πŸ‘€ Before You Update

  • Built for VESC Express / ESP32-C3
  • Requires VESC firmware 6.05+
  • For multi-node systems, keep CAN timing defaults unless you have a known reason to override

πŸŽ‰ 2026.03 - UnleashedCreativity Lights

This one’s out in the wild.

UnleashedCreativity Lights 2026.03 delivers a focused lighting package for VESC Express ESP32-C3 accessories, built around Refloat RT integration, smarter CAN node behavior, and a cleaner master/slave lighting model. Less clutter, tighter control, better lighting behavior. ⚑

🌟 What’s New

  • πŸš€ New Refloat RT API integration for lighting control
  • πŸŽ›οΈ Lighting behavior is now driven directly from Refloat
  • πŸ”— Master-only Refloat discovery and polling, with forwarded state for peers/slaves
  • 🧠 Simplified node model with just Master and Slave roles
  • πŸ’Ύ Slave nodes now store pushed configuration with CRC-checked persistence
  • 🎯 Target LED outputs by SELF (-1) or specific peer CAN-ID for daisy-chain layouts
  • 🌈 Advanced lighting patterns and states including Cylon & Rainbow
  • πŸ“‘ Optimized for minimal CAN traffic during normal operation

βš™οΈ Under the Hood

  • Master is the single source of truth for configuration across nodes
  • Slave UI is streamlined so it clearly follows the active master configuration
  • Runtime startup is staged so CAN role election settles before LED output starts
  • Compatibility and persistence handling were tightened up with config restore/default logic and CRC validation
  • Includes safeguards around stale state, forwarded Refloat status, and LED watchdog/restart behavior
  • Terms-of-service acceptance and device checks are built into the package UI for safer deployment

πŸ‘€ Before You Update

  • Built for VESC Express / ESP32-C3 hardware
  • Requires VESC firmware 6.05 or newer
  • This package is intended for CAN-connected lighting accessories used with Refloat
  • If you’re running multiple nodes, configure the layout around the new Master / Slave model
  • Slave nodes follow the master and receive pushed configuration automatically
