OpenStreamPlayer v0.1.26
Picture-in-Picture playback
- Adds a PiP button beside fullscreen for live TV, movies, and episodes. The button becomes available when video is ready.
- Opens a floating native video window and exits player fullscreen. Click again or close the floating window to return.
- Stop, changing streams, and unmounting the player close PiP. Entering fullscreen also closes it.
- Handles unsupported runtimes, rejected requests, and stream changes during a pending PiP request without turning PiP errors into playback failures.
Validation: production build and all 10 tests passed. Native Electron PiP opened and closed twice with moving synthetic video; the fullscreen smoke test also passed. The local runtime logged GPU startup failures, so hardware-accelerated provider playback was not verified by this test.
OpenStreamPlayer v0.1.25
Windows fullscreen correction
- Uses borderless fullscreen on Windows rather than Chromium's native fullscreen transition, targeting duplicate Alt+Tab thumbnails.
- Removes the File/Edit/View menu on Windows and Linux.
- Restores the previous window size and maximized state on exit; retains window controls, F11, and Escape.
Validation: production build and three VOD tests passed. The fullscreen smoke test uses moving synthetic video and checks window identity, bounds restoration, repeated requests, and maximized-state restoration. A visual Windows Alt+Tab check showed one test-app entry after repeated switching, while the installed v0.1.24 application's existing duplicates remained separately visible. The test runtime logged GPU startup failures, so hardware-decoded provider playback remains to be verified in the packaged build.
Close the previous version before launching this update. Updating does not itself clear existing Windows task-switcher entries belonging to an already-running older process.
OpenStreamPlayer v0.1.24
OpenStreamPlayer v0.1.24
- Fullscreen uses the existing desktop window, with F11/Escape support and a single-instance guard for repeated launches.
- Adds searchable Movies and Series browse pages with category filters and pagination.
- Adds Xtream season and episode selection, retry handling, and a return-to-episodes button.
- Preserves the playing episode when refreshing the catalog.
Validation: production build and three VOD browser tests passed. The Electron smoke test retained one window across four fullscreen/minimize/restore cycles; the Windows Alt+Tab list was not visually verified.
macOS Apple Silicon packages are ad-hoc signed, not notarized. Windows and Linux packages are unsigned. Existing provider settings remain in your app data.
