Fixed issue with bitcrush like noise when heavy modulating (see issue #1 )
This is done by doing 2 things:
- moving led update code out of audiocallback
- increasing the audio block size from 4 to 8 samples
no 2 has the following implications:
- The in/out latency is increased from 0.89ms to 1.05ms.
- the update rate of cv has dropped from 12kHz to 6kHz, but there is already a bunch of smoothing going on, so this change might be a minimal effect as well.
I have made two versions of the firmware, one with only the led code change, the other one with the block size change as well. I recommend the one with 8 samples, but feel free to try and compare the 2.
Updating The Firmware
Power off your rack (or just unplug Time Machine)
Connect the MicroUSB on the back of the module to your computer
Hold down the button nearest the MicroUSB port and press the one next to it to prepare it for the new software
Download the attached bin file
Go to https://electro-smith.github.io/Programmer/
Click the Connect button and choose “DFU in FS Mode”
Go down to“Or select a file from your computer” and choose the .bin file you just downloaded
Click the Program button and wait for it finish
on windows computers it might be necessary to install the Zadig driver, read how to do that here: https://github.com/electro-smith/DaisyWiki/wiki/Using-Zadig-to-Reset-USB-Driver-(Windows-Only)
