Butterflies are common passive mobs that can be caught with butterfly nets and used as decoration items.
There are 6 butterfly variants; brimstone, morpho, monarch, rustic, peacock and jewel butterflies.
Brimstone butterflies spawn in meadows, plains, mangrove swamps, forests, birch forests, old growth birch forests.
Morpho butterflies spawn in meadows, plains, mangrove swamps, forests, birch forests and old growth birch forests.
Monarch butterflies spawn in meadows, plains, mangrove swamps, forests, birch forests and old growth birch forests.
Rustic butterflies spawn in birch and old growth birch forests.
Peacock butterflies spawn in meadows, plains, mangrove swamps, forests, birch forests and old growth birch forests.
Jewel butterflies spawn in cherry groves. Jewel butterflies display particles around them while flying.
There are 2 decoration blocks that utilize butterflies. Display Cases and Butterfly Jars.
Display cases can be crafted with 3 stripped dark oak logs or wood and 3 glass blocks. They can be placed down, and if placing them against block while shifting, they'll be tilted. Display cases can hold 4 butterflies.
Butterfly Jars can be crafted from 6 glass blocks and can hold 1 butterfly.
