Miyo v0.0.5
Miyo v0.0.5
This release focuses on app identity, release packaging, local reading reliability, native performance work, and the image refinement pipeline.
Highlights
- Updated the app icon and launcher assets across adaptive, round, legacy, splash, README, and GitHub metadata surfaces.
- Bumped the Android package version to
0.0.5/versionCode 12. - Keeps the release APK lean by bundling only the default
general-x4v3refinement model. - Publishes the optional downloadable refinement model pack separately with
general-x4v3,fast-x2v1,sharp-x4v1, andwebtoon-x4v1. - CI verifies that the release APK contains only
assets/models/general-x4v3.jsonand packages the remaining refinement models as a separate ZIP.
Reader, Downloads, And Local Library
- Improved downloaded/local manga indexing so manga with real downloaded chapters is surfaced more reliably.
- Strengthened downloaded-page handling with local-first reading paths and safer corruption checks.
- Continued download reliability work around adaptive parallelism, stuck-download visibility, cancellation/pause state, and provider-specific slowdowns.
- Improved captcha/WebView cookie handoff paths so solved provider checks can be reused more consistently where providers allow it.
Native And Performance Work
- Native C++ helpers are wired into CI and validated across ABIs.
- Native image probing helps reject empty/corrupt image responses before they poison local storage.
- Native ZIP/CBZ work reduces archive overhead where available.
- Native refinement/image processing groundwork improves responsiveness while retaining Kotlin fallbacks on unsupported devices.
Lineage
Miyo is a rebranded fork and continuation of Usagi, which itself is derived from Kotatsu. This release keeps that lineage visible while moving the project under the Miyo name and package identity.

Miyo v0.0.4
Miyo v0.0.4
This release focuses on reader reliability, download integrity, and improved handling for CAPTCHA-protected sources.
Highlights
- Improved Cloudflare/CAPTCHA handling for sources that complete verification without exposing a traditional
cf_clearancecookie. - Hardened offline reading and page caching to avoid blank, stale, partial, or mismatched pages.
- Improved download integrity so incomplete chapters are no longer marked as successfully downloaded.
- Cleaned up source deep links and browser source initialization issues found during release validation.
Added
- Accessibility-based CAPTCHA session verification for WebView flows.
- Safer page cache writes using temporary files before committing final cache entries.
- SHA-256 cache file naming to reduce filename collision risk.
- Invalid cache eviction before retrying page loads from the network.
Fixed
- Chapters could be marked complete even when one or more pages failed or were skipped during download.
- CAPTCHA sessions could fail after a valid solve if the source did not expose a Cloudflare-named cookie.
- Concurrent resolver launches could overwrite an active continuation and leave the first request unresolved.
- Reader page tasks could be reused incorrectly when different pages shared the same page ID.
- Empty, corrupt, or partial cached images could be shown as valid reader pages.
- WebView cookie persistence could drop same-host URLs with different paths.
- Several source web links had malformed manifest host entries.
- Duplicate source deep-link entries were removed.
- Browser source initialization now uses the correct source factory, fixing the release CI compile failure.
Changed
- WebView cookies restored from Android's
CookieManagernow preserve narrower scope when full cookie metadata is unavailable. - CAPTCHA verification now checks actual page accessibility before accepting or rejecting a session.
- Reader cache reuse now validates cached files before returning them to the UI.
