Banana Reader 0.13.3

Active publication has moved to https://github.com/TreyDong/banana-reader-plugin/releases/tag/0.13.3. This repository retains historical releases. The new repository resolves the old repository binding, but the directory still reserves the archived Banana Reader display name; the new entry is not yet registered.

Directory status (2026-10-22): the old gloss-reader entry has been archived. The new submission was rejected because this repository remains associated with the old entry, so a banana-reader directory listing has not been created. GitHub installation files are available below. Administrator assistance or a different publication repository is required before resubmission.

Banana Reader 0.13.3 uses banana-reader as its plugin ID and installation folder. New exported notes use the matching link protocol; old gloss-reader note links remain supported.

For existing installations, back up the old plugin folder and disable gloss-reader before enabling banana-reader. Do not uninstall the old plugin first. The guarded migration copies settings, highlights, annotations, conversations and recognized indexes without overwriting either copy. It retains the source and records a migration receipt; conflicts stop the import. Custom shortcuts need to be reassigned. Saved secret reference names are retained; session-only keys need to be entered again.

This is a replacement installation, not an automatic in-place plugin-ID update. The old directory entry is being retired; the new listing has a separate review. Historical releases remain available. Install only the three matching assets in .obsidian/plugins/banana-reader/ (or your custom vault configuration directory).

Validation: 141 regression tests, official source-rule lint (no errors), TypeScript checks and the bundled build pass. The old directory entry preview rejected only the changed plugin ID; the maintainer approved replacement through a separate new-entry review. Directory approval is not implied by this release. Native personal-vault migration has not been performed. Unrelated 0.14.0 feature work is excluded.

插件 ID 与安装目录统一为 banana-reader，新导出笔记使用对应回跳链接，旧笔记链接继续兼容。旧安装请先备份、停用 gloss-reader，再启用新安装；不要先卸载旧插件。迁移只复制旧设置、划线、批注、问答与合法索引，保留原件，遇到冲突停止。自定义快捷键需要重新分配，会话密钥需要重新输入。

此次是新条目替换，旧 ID 不再持续维护；官方新条目审核与 GitHub 发行分别验证。个人库尚未执行迁移，未包含正在开发的 0.14.0 功能。

Banana Reader 0.13.2

Banana Reader 0.13.2 fixes the two error categories reported by the Obsidian community scan for 0.13.1.

• Replace 10 static style assignments with supported Obsidian style helpers, preserving the existing values and dynamic layout calculations.
• Replace seven manually created settings headings with native Setting.setName().setHeading() components, retaining typography and localization.
• Add the pinned official eslint-plugin-obsidianmd recommended checks: npm run lint scans source and metadata; npm run check runs lint, tests and the build. General code-quality warnings remain visible.

No changes to model execution, prompts, storage format, plugin ID or data paths. Existing data is preserved.

Official Review branch preflight completed successfully for review/0.13.2 at commit 7c09365 before release publication.

Validation: the official rules detect all 17 original errors and none in the repaired source; all 124 regression tests, TypeScript checking and the bundled build pass. Native QA covers the appearance, model-service and command settings plus the reading notebook and an existing underline.

Install main.js, manifest.json and styles.css from this release into <vault>/.obsidian/plugins/gloss-reader/, then restart Obsidian. Preserve data.json and indices/. Desktop Obsidian 1.11.4+ is required. Full project and third-party notices are embedded in main.js.

Banana Reader 0.13.2 修复 0.13.1 社区审核报告中的两类错误。

• 10 处静态样式赋值改用官方接口，保留原有数值及动态布局计算。
• 7 处设置标题改用原生 Setting 标题，保留排版和中英文显示。
• 加入固定版本的官方 ESLint 规则；npm run lint 检查源码与发布元数据，npm run check 串联规则、测试及构建。原有代码质量警告继续显示。

业务逻辑、模型请求、提示词、存储格式、插件 ID 和数据路径保持不变。旧版 17 个错误均可由规则检出，修复后为 0；124 项测试、类型检查和构建通过。已在隔离测试库验收外观、模型服务、指令设置及阅读笔记本，已有划线和数据保留。

Banana Reader 0.13.1 fixes interface language switching in already open readers.

• Notebook, Q&A, Marks, counters, reading statistics and index labels/tooltips update immediately when switching English or Simplified Chinese.
• Remove stale accessibility captions and mixed-language labels from English documentation.
• Preserve document text, saved annotations, conversations, unsent drafts, prompts and model assignments.

Validation: 124 regression tests, TypeScript checking and the bundled build pass. Native BRAT checks in the isolated test vault cover English → Chinese → English in the same open reader, retaining an existing mark and an unsent draft.

Banana Reader 0.13.0 adds English and Simplified Chinese interface settings.

• Choose Follow Obsidian, 中文（简体）, or English in Settings → Banana Reader → Appearance → Interface language. From the Chinese interface: 设置 → Banana Reader → 外观配置 → 界面语言.
• Settings and command names update immediately. Reopen an existing reader to apply its interface language; the saved preference survives restarting Obsidian.
• Existing prompts, model assignments, translation targets, custom names, annotations and conversations keep their values. Changing interface language does not translate prompts or change the model's answer language.
• Update the English and Chinese user guides, development guide and version metadata, including the English getting-started labels.

Banana Reader 0.12.5 improves the desktop paragraph minimap and tidies the source repository.

• Keep the left paragraph preview visible at desktop widths; render actual text-line widths, compact short documents and lighten highlight markers.
• Refine scoped reader/settings styles and update the usage documentation.
• Organize runtime code in src/, tests in tests/ and build scripts in scripts/. Remove internal engineering records from the repository.

Banana Reader 0.12.3

Banana Reader 0.12.3 provides a full English README and preserves the complete Chinese reference in README.zh-CN.md. This addresses the directory warning that remained on the mixed-language README. The runtime JavaScript and CSS are byte-identical to the tested 0.12.1 release; only documentation and version metadata changed.

Install the three attached files in .obsidian/plugins/gloss-reader/. Preserve existing data.json and indices/ when updating. Requires Obsidian 1.11.4 or later on desktop; the interface is currently in Chinese. Configure your own API or an authenticated CLI. Model lists do not guarantee account entitlement; see README for network, costs and local-file access.

The inherited validation includes 109 passing regression tests and native Obsidian 1.14.4/macOS checks of real selected-text Q&A, citations, highlights, Markdown export, persistence, original PDF scrolling/page return and EPUB article briefs. Successful live calls used gpt-6-luna; two other cached model selections failed and were reported by the UI. Windows/Linux, the minimum app version and every external provider were not retested.

The 0.12.1 official review completed with a byte-for-byte reproduced build. The community listing is public and offers Add to Obsidian. The 0.12.3 review is Completed, the English README warning is resolved, and the directory lists 0.12.3. The build is reproduced byte-for-byte; dependency and obfuscation checks pass. Banana Reader 0.12.1

Banana Reader is a desktop reading companion for Markdown, original PDF pages and EPUB books, with configurable AI services, anchored highlights, margin notes and Markdown export.

This first community publication keeps the existing reader and data format. It replaces identified prototype source reuse in the margin-layout function, EPUB path helper and specific reading styles/texture. The provenance audit records what was replaced, what remains as standard functionality, and the limits of the comparison. Unchanged Newsreader and Schibsted font binaries retain their OFL; fflate retains MIT.

Install the three attached files in .obsidian/plugins/gloss-reader/. Keep an existing data.json and indices/ when updating. The plugin ID, commands, credential references and existing annotations are unchanged. Obsidian 1.11.4 or later on desktop is required; the interface is currently in Chinese.

Validation: locked dependency reinstall, reproducible build, 109 passing regression tests, standalone three-file loading, complete embedded notices and zero known production-dependency vulnerabilities. Native Obsidian 1.14.4/macOS testing in a temporary vault covered real selected-text Q&A with model/usage/citations, saved wave highlights, actual Markdown export, reload persistence, paper/night themes, original PDF rendering and continuous scrolling, page-2 Q&A and return navigation, EPUB chapter order and actual cited article briefs. All source documents were synthetic and remained unchanged.

The successful live model was gpt-6-luna. Cached gpt-5.6-luna and gpt-6.1-sol selections did not complete requests during this test; model discovery does not establish account entitlement. Windows/Linux, the minimum supported app version and every external provider were not retested. Community directory submission is pending. This Release alone does not mean the plugin is listed or installable through Obsidian.
