MathForge v0.2.0 - Exact algebra alpha

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@U-C4N U-C4N released this 09 Oct 07:23

MathForge v0.2.0 expands the independent exact mathematics core, with zero runtime dependencies.

What's new

  • Exact polynomial division, gcd/Bézout identities, square-free decomposition, and real roots with multiplicities.
  • Rational equations and inequalities that preserve domain holes, plus exact interval unions.
  • Rational matrices, RREF, determinant, inverse, nullspace, and complete affine linear-system solutions.
  • Repeated derivatives and exact polynomial integrals, independently checked results, and bounded computation.
  • Strict v2 JSON and mixed workspaces that preserve existing v1 records and content references.

Compatibility and downloads

Python 3.11+; no runtime CAS or numerical-library dependencies. New v2 results require a v0.2 reader. This remains an alpha release.

Download the wheel or source distribution below. SHA-256 checksums are included. See the README and examples for usage.

Validation includes 226 automated tests, four runnable examples, schema and typing checks, and isolated wheel/sdist installations. The final core matches the validated release candidate.

CI passed on Linux and Windows with Python 3.11–3.14, with distribution checks also passing on macOS/Python 3.14.

MathForge v0.1.0 - First public alpha

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@U-C4N U-C4N released this 08 Oct 08:54

MathForge's first public alpha delivers an independent exact mathematics core for Python applications and AI agents, with no runtime dependencies.

Included

  • Native normalized rational arithmetic and immutable symbolic expressions with explicit symbol identities and domains.
  • Substitution, exact evaluation, rational-coefficient univariate polynomials, and polynomial differentiation.
  • Real linear and quadratic equation solving, including exact radicals such as ±sqrt(2).
  • Structured results that distinguish execution status, mathematical outcome, exactness, completeness, and verification.
  • Auditable solution steps and separate algorithmic checks for root membership and completeness.
  • Optional Workspace storage, immutable content references, and versioned JSON persistence that preserves large integers and exact expressions.
  • An English quick start, detailed guide, executable end-to-end example, and original SVG identity.

Validation

  • 88 tests passed on both Python 3.11 and Python 3.14.
  • The tests and end-to-end example also passed against the release wheel installed in separate environments.
  • The source distribution includes the guide, examples, tests, and SVG assets; its wheel was built and checked against the release source.
  • Release asset hashes are provided in SHA256SUMS.

Current scope

This is an alpha prerelease. Equation solving supports unconstrained real variables and rational-coefficient polynomials of effective degree at most two. Dense polynomial operations are limited to degree 1024. Symbolic denominators, negative powers, and general symbolic square roots are unsupported. Verification is algorithmic, not formal proof.

MCP and visualization adapters are planned and are not included in this release.

Install

Requires Python 3.11 or newer. Download the wheel attached to this release, then run:

python -m pip install mathforge-0.1.0-py3-none-any.whl
