MathForge's first public alpha delivers an independent exact mathematics core for Python applications and AI agents, with no runtime dependencies.

Included

  • Native normalized rational arithmetic and immutable symbolic expressions with explicit symbol identities and domains.
  • Substitution, exact evaluation, rational-coefficient univariate polynomials, and polynomial differentiation.
  • Real linear and quadratic equation solving, including exact radicals such as ±sqrt(2).
  • Structured results that distinguish execution status, mathematical outcome, exactness, completeness, and verification.
  • Auditable solution steps and separate algorithmic checks for root membership and completeness.
  • Optional Workspace storage, immutable content references, and versioned JSON persistence that preserves large integers and exact expressions.
  • An English quick start, detailed guide, executable end-to-end example, and original SVG identity.

Validation

  • 88 tests passed on both Python 3.11 and Python 3.14.
  • The tests and end-to-end example also passed against the release wheel installed in separate environments.
  • The source distribution includes the guide, examples, tests, and SVG assets; its wheel was built and checked against the release source.
  • Release asset hashes are provided in SHA256SUMS.

Current scope

This is an alpha prerelease. Equation solving supports unconstrained real variables and rational-coefficient polynomials of effective degree at most two. Dense polynomial operations are limited to degree 1024. Symbolic denominators, negative powers, and general symbolic square roots are unsupported. Verification is algorithmic, not formal proof.

MCP and visualization adapters are planned and are not included in this release.

Install

Requires Python 3.11 or newer. Download the wheel attached to this release, then run:

python -m pip install mathforge-0.1.0-py3-none-any.whl
