2021年に刊行された「Geospatial Strategy for the United Nations」を読みました。

何を目的とした文書なのか？

The Geospatial Strategy aims to set direction to support the implementation of the mandates of the United Nations Secretariat.
（特に地理空間情報の観点から、）国連事務局の活動をサポートするための方向性を定めることが目的。

スマート地図グループに関係するところは？

  • As an integral part of the data ecosystem, location information is critical to gaining insight, to better understand events and phenomenon patterns and to act upon them.
    位置情報は、起きている現象を正しく理解し、行動するために極めて重要なデータ

  • Geospatial information must be innovative and creative to support the substantive work of the United Nations.
    地理空間情報は、UNの実質的な活動をサポートするため、革新的かつ創造的である必要がある。

  • Geospatial information provides insight for better decision-making and action-taking, and it must be made accessible and actionable by everyone.
    地理空間情報は、意思決定と行動のための情報（洞察）を提供し、全ての人からアクセスできなければならない。（オープンであることが重要）

  • Recently new and innovative analytical methods are increasingly being used such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, virtual reality, and other advanced technics.
    AI、機械学習、VRなどの革新的な解析手法が増えている。

（感想）
・意思決定のための地理空間情報の重要性が記載されている
・地理空間情報は誰もがアクセス出来るようオープンであることが大事

※アメリカで3/10からサマータイムが始まり時差13時間になりました。

@k96mz から頂いた、Smart Local の意義に関する質問の中で

Raspberry Pi 単独でウェブ地図が運用できるようになるので、例えば、USB の安い GPS アンテナをつけるなどすれば、インターネットから完全に独立した形でローカルにウェブ地図が運用できるようになります。何に役立つか分からないが、わくわくします。

といった趣旨の回答をしました。

上記の「衛星ウェブ地図」のコンセプトについては、（率直なところ Starlink のもじりで、）Planetlink という名前をつけています。 :-)

@ShogoHirasawa @mapconcierge とともに進めている UNVT Portable のワークストリームとの相乗効果も意識しながら Smart Local の作業を進めました。
