Config.json

The mod's global settings: queues, pausing, per-type boost behavior, and the Discord webhook connection. Located at config/MoreSparkles/config.json.

Warning

1.3.0 breaking changes in this file: active_global_boost and queued_global_boosts were removed. Global boosts are now saved in Global_Boosts.json, and old global boosts are not carried over.

Note

If a setting is missing from your file, MoreSparkles adds it with its default value the next time the file loads. If the file can't be read (for example, a JSON syntax error), MoreSparkles logs an error and keeps using the last working version, or the defaults on a fresh start.

Field Type Default Description
debug boolean false Prints extra debug information to console.
allow_queued_boosts boolean true When a boost starts while one of the same type is already active, queue it. If false, the new boost replaces the active one. See How-It-Works.
pause_player_boosts_during_global_boost boolean true Pause players' boosts while a global boost of the same type is running. They resume when the global boost ends.
pause_player_boosts_on_disconnect boolean true Pause a player's boosts while they're offline. If false, their boosts keep counting down.
pause_player_boosts_on_shutdown boolean true Pause online players' boosts while the server is down.
pause_global_boosts_on_shutdown boolean true Pause global boosts while the server is down.
webhook_settings object — Discord webhook connection. See Webhook Settings.

Boost Behavior

These settings change how specific boost types work. See Boost-Types for the full details of each type.

Field Type Default Description
experience_booster_ignores_candy boolean true Don't boost experience from Rare Candies and other experience items.
experience_booster_ignores_sidemod_source boolean true Don't boost experience given by other mods.
ev_booster_ignores_vitamins boolean true Don't boost EVs from vitamins and other EV items.
ev_booster_ignores_sidemod_source boolean true Don't boost EVs given by other mods.
hidden_ability_booster_base_chance number 0.05 The Hidden Ability chance at 1x, from 0 to 1. The boosted chance is this value times the multiplier. 0.05 is 5%.
iv_booster_strength_constant integer 4 Controls how strong the IV boost is. Lower values make each multiplier stronger. See Boost-Types for the formula and examples.
persistent_data_key_blacklist object {"IV": ["raid_data"]} Boost types that skip certain Pokémon. See below.

Persistent Data Blacklist — persistent_data_key_blacklist

A map of boost type → list of persistent data keys. If a Pokémon's persistent data contains any of the listed keys, that boost type doesn't affect it. This is useful for Pokémon from other mods, like raid bosses, that shouldn't be boosted.

The default stops the IV boost from changing the IVs of Pokémon caught from raids:

"persistent_data_key_blacklist": {
  "IV": ["raid_data"]
}

To also stop raid Pokémon from being boosted by Shiny and Mark boosts:

"persistent_data_key_blacklist": {
  "IV": ["raid_data"],
  "SHINY": ["raid_data"],
  "MARK": ["raid_data"]
}

The blacklist applies to every type except BERRY, ALPHA and SPAWN_BUCKET, which don't work on individual Pokémon.

Webhook Settings — webhook_settings

Posts a Discord message for each active global boost and keeps it up to date. The content of the messages is set per type in Messages.json.

Field Type Default Description
enabled boolean false Master toggle for the Discord integration.
url string — The webhook URL to post to. In Discord: Channel Settings → Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook → Copy Webhook URL.
update_rate_seconds integer 30 How often each message is edited to refresh its placeholders, like the time remaining. The first message for a boost is also sent on this cycle, so it can take up to this long to appear.
delete_when_boost_ends boolean true Delete the message when the boost ends. If false, the message stays with its last update.

Tip

If someone deletes a boost's message in Discord, MoreSparkles sends a new one on the next update.

Changes to these settings apply with /sparkles reload.
