What is new:

• The app finds each new version by itself, when it opens and every few hours in the background
• New versions download and are checked automatically, then installed with a single tap
• On Android 12 and newer, once the app has installed an update itself, later updates install without any extra steps
• A notice stays in your notification shade until the new version is installed
• The app asks to be updated before carrying on, so everyone shops with the latest version; your cart and account are kept, and the website is always there in the meantime

BookStoreBD for Android 0.8.0 keeps the app in step with the website's latest improvements, and makes many small things more accurate.

What is new:

• Change your account's e-mail address from Edit profile, confirmed with a code sent to the new address
• Accounts made with Google confirm closing the account or turning off two-step sign-in with an e-mailed code
• Closing your account cancels orders that have not started, and says clearly what has to finish first
• Checkout sends your order confirmation to the e-mail address you choose, and a retried order is never placed twice
• The confirmation shows exactly what was ordered and what to pay, and explains any book that was left out or had fewer copies left
• Ordered books leave the cart; sold-out books stay there for when they are back
• The cart and checkout show the total before delivery until a district is chosen, and the cart badge counts the copies ready for checkout
• Orders show where they stand and whether they can be cancelled as the shop decides, with free delivery shown as Free
• Reviews and seller ratings open once an order has been delivered; Write a review appears on delivered books
• Order receipts and seller slips mark books that came back

• Every shelf on the home page says what it holds; Shop by category shows each subject with its number of books, and Under ৳300 has its own See all
• Book cards show how often a book has been viewed and saved
• Book pages and the cart list cash on delivery, the return window and delivery; the cart offers Continue shopping
• Search results say how many books match and show the sellers whose name matches
• Choose English or Bangla for voice search, and clear your recent searches in one tap

What is new:

• Add a book to the cart, or take it out, straight from any book card, a seller's shop or your wishlist
• A book's page shows when it is in your cart: change how many copies there, or remove it
• A book's page shows how many people have viewed it and saved it, and why you cannot review it when you cannot
• A sold-out book stays in your cart but is left out of the total, so you can check out the rest; ask to hear when it is back from the cart or the wishlist
• Checkout lists your books with their quantities, asks for your e-mail address, and tells you about the promo codes running and how long delivery takes
• The order confirmation shows what you ordered, offers the receipt as a PDF, and takes you to tracking
• A seller's shop can be searched, sorted and filtered to books in stock, and shows how long they have been selling and how their books are reviewed

• Scan a book's ISBN barcode to search for it, or to fill in the ISBN when you list a book. The picture is read on your phone and never stored or sent
• Links to BookStoreBD's books, shops, searches, orders and more now open straight in the app
• Long-press the app's icon for shortcuts to search, scan a book, your cart and your orders
• Tablets, foldables and phones held sideways: the tabs move down the side, conversations and orders open beside their lists, and a book's pictures sit beside its details

• Selling screens now ask you to sign in first when you are not signed in, as the website does. Before, Have it? List it on the Wanted board could open the listing form for a visitor who was not signed in.

• The notification bell on Home, with the full history and marking one or all as read
• Choose what you hear about, in the app and by e-mail, for each kind of notification
• Messages: chat with buyers and sellers, with photos, delivered live while the app is open

Private by design:

• Each push carries only an id; the app fetches the details over a secure connection, so no personal text passes through Google
