First off, thank you for this great project. It seems really well thought out. I'm interested in using it on a window which is sort of inset from the rest of the wall. As a result there isn't really a wall next to the window where you would normally mount the motor. Here's a picture of my curtains. I think I have 3 options.
My preference would be 2, but I don't know if that cross in the line would be an issue. Not sure if you know @daniel-frenkel or if anybody used Ropener with a setup like this? Is there another option I'm not thinking about? |

Hi @StephenWetzel, I'm sorry for missing this message, I'm still getting used to this discussion board. I just did a quick test and surprisingly it works just fine to twist it 90 degrees. |

I’m going to continue testing it with the rope twisted like this, because I actually like the way the motor is oriented when it’s in this position, because it allows the PCB to be mounted directly to the back of the motor. And ann updated design would allow you to stick the motor on either side of the curtain and possibly on the wall like you want. There are many advantages to it, so thanks for bringing it up! Awesome, thanks for testing. And no worries, I kind of figured it might slip through the cracks, as there was no activity here, but thought it made more sense here rather than as an Issue.
