Releases: Vamxi/bunker

v0.6.1

Choose a tag to compare

@Vamxi Vamxi released this 06 Oct 13:01

Added

  • Drag a tab to move it, up and down the sidebar or along the bar; the
    other tabs make way as it goes.

Changed

  • A colour-tagged tab has a short rounded bar at its left edge in the
    sidebar, and a line along its bottom edge in the bar, instead of a border
    all the way round. Neighbouring tabs of the same colour join theirs into
    one; in the sidebar it bends round the group's top and bottom corners
    like a bracket. The collapsed sidebar keeps its ring around the number.

v0.6.0

@Vamxi Vamxi released this 05 Oct 14:47

Added

  • Neighbouring tabs of the same colour share one border, so they read as a
    group.

Changed

  • A colour-tagged tab has a border all the way round in the sidebar and the
    bar, instead of a stripe along one edge. The collapsed sidebar keeps its
    ring around the number.

v0.5.0: m Tag tabs with a colour from the tab menu

Choose a tag to compare

@Vamxi Vamxi released this 05 Oct 14:35

Added

  • Tabs can be tagged with a colour from their right-click menu (Colour:
    red, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, or None), taken from the theme's
    palette. A tagged tab has a stripe along its edge in the sidebar or bar,
    and a ring around its number in the collapsed sidebar, which still shows
    when an alert fills the number.

Fixed

  • Backspace works in the search bar (Ctrl+F); it did nothing before.

v0.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Vamxi Vamxi released this 28 Sep 11:53

Added

  • Tabs light up when they need you: a coloured dot in the sidebar or bar,
    or the coloured number in the collapsed sidebar. Green: a command that ran
    10 seconds or longer finished; red: it failed; yellow: a program rang the
    bell or asked for a notification (OSC 9, 777, and 99, which Claude Code
    can send). Looking at the tab clears it. While the window is in the
    background, bunker also shows a desktop notification; clicking it opens
    that tab. Exit codes come from shell integration (OSC 133); without it,
    bunker notices when the shell gets the terminal back. Settings are under
    [notify] and in Preferences > Terminal.

Fixed

  • Backspace, Enter, and Tab send their usual bytes to programs that turn on
    the kitty keyboard protocol's basic mode, as the protocol says; only
    programs that ask for every key as an escape code get escape codes for
    them. Backspace sent an escape code before, which some programs did not
    take as Backspace, and a shell left behind by a program that crashed with
    the mode on lost Enter.
  • bunker config set created no file when the config did not exist yet and
    the value equalled the default.

v0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Vamxi Vamxi released this 25 Sep 13:47

Added

  • Every shortcut can be changed: the window's own (new tab, next and
    previous tab, clipboard, text size, Preferences) join bunk's pane keys
    under [keys]. Preferences > Keyboard records a new shortcut when you
    click one and press the keys, and asks before taking a key another
    action uses. A key set for two actions is shown in a banner.
  • bunker config set, get, and list change and read any setting from a
    shell, with the same checks as Preferences. GTK's key spelling
    (<Control>Right) is accepted.
  • The cursor blinks. [cursor] blink is system (the desktop setting, or
    what the program asks for), on, or off, as in Ptyxis.

v0.2.1

Choose a tag to compare

@Vamxi Vamxi released this 25 Sep 13:08

Fixed

  • Pasting with Ctrl+V after copying inside bunker froze the window. bunk's
    copy and paste keys now use the window's own clipboard, like
    Ctrl+Shift+C and Ctrl+Shift+V, and never wait on a clipboard command.
  • A split into the same container (Alt+F1) no longer freezes the window
    while podman or docker answers.
  • If the window ever stops responding for 5 seconds, bunker logs where it is
    stuck, so the cause can be found.

v0.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Vamxi Vamxi released this 25 Sep 12:52

Added

  • bunker is released as an RPM. grm install Vamxi/bunker installs it with
    dnf, together with the launcher, the icons, and GTK 4; bunker install-desktop is no longer needed for released builds.

Changed

  • --debug now logs to stderr, and --trace writes /tmp/bunker.log
    (truncated on every start). The trace file is only used if it is a
    regular file you own. Without flags, only warnings and errors are logged.

Faster

  • Plain output about 40% faster (seq 1 2000000: 0.83 s → 0.48 s):
    scrolling clears only the part of a line that was used.
  • Coloured and Unicode output about 40% faster (52 MB of coloured text
    with CJK and emoji: 1.81 s → 1.09 s): character widths and grapheme
    checks come from a lookup table, and the byte stream is scanned with fast
    byte searches instead of one byte at a time. Full-screen programs (btop,
    vim) redraw about 4× faster in the emulator.
