Changed
- The VPN key appears later. Android shows that key the moment a tunnel exists, and the app proves a tunnel carries traffic before it says Protected. That check used to take seven seconds; it now takes about three, because the part of it that had already been answered is no longer asked twice.
- The ping is measured properly on mobile data. One slow attempt used to throw away the whole measurement, so phones on mobile networks were shown a number taken outside the tunnel instead of inside it.
- Before you connect, the map shows where you actually are — your country and your address — instead of mixing the country you picked with the address you have. The country you picked is still named in the card above the map.
New in Settings
- An anonymous id for this install, with a Reset button. A random number, not taken from anything about your phone, used only to group this install's own reports. Resetting it makes earlier reports unlinkable from later ones.
- The sharing switch now says what it actually sends: which servers worked, how long each connection lasted and how much it moved, and failed attempts with their reason. No IP, no precise location, and nothing about what you did inside the tunnel. Your own subscriptions are never sent.
