Ishtaria Client v0.2.0

Test release for the author of the story. Connect to the demo world at https://ishtaria.vitexsoftware.com/api (server 0.2.x).

What's new

• New character creation: all looks not worn by story NPCs, including the 14 Quaternius characters (pick a pack, then a look)
• Spoken English and Czech dialogue lines in the End Land story (datadisk 0.6.0)
• Farm and wild animals walking about, butchering and milking; animals now sized in proportion to the player
• Quest compass and quest markers
• The client checks the server version and refuses an incompatible server (minimum 0.1.0)

First public release of the Ishtaria client, the Godot 4 front end of the Ishtaria virtual planet.

What's New

• Explore a server-owned planet. Connect to an Ishtaria server, create a character from three animated character packs, and walk or run across terrain, towns and scenery generated by the server.
• Live in the world. Gather wood and stone, craft planks, eat and drink, manage your inventory and equipment, and watch your stamina, water and health in the Adventure-style HUD. Your gold balance always comes from the server.
• Meet people and stories. Talk to characters from story datadisks, visit generated places and towns, use portal share links to travel between worlds, and see nearby memorials.
• English and Czech. The interface is available in both languages; language and sound settings stay on your computer.
• More ways to install. Besides the Debian package, there are now standalone builds for Linux (x86-64 and arm64), Windows (x86-64) and macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel).

Good to know

• The Debian package is the supported way to install. The standalone Linux, Windows and macOS builds are exported on request and have not been tested on those systems.
• The Windows and macOS builds are not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen and macOS Gatekeeper will warn. On macOS use right-click, Open, or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine Ishtaria.app.
• Ishtaria is under active development. First physical landing, sailing and federation handovers are not finished yet.
