screen-size-vlv 1.0.0

The first public release of screen-size-vlv: a free, native macOS utility for placing the frontmost window left, right, centered, or across the usable screen.

Highlights

Requirements

  • macOS 13 Ventura or newer.
  • Accessibility permission, which macOS requires to move windows owned by other apps.

Install

  1. Download the ZIP and its .sha256 checksum file.
  2. Verify it with shasum -a 256 -c screen-size-vlv-1.0.0-macos-unsigned.zip.sha256.
  3. Unzip the archive and move screen-size-vlv.app to /Applications.
  4. On first launch, Control-click the app and choose Open if Gatekeeper asks for confirmation.
  5. Grant Accessibility access from Preferences.

Signing notice

This build is ad-hoc signed only. It is not signed with an Apple Developer ID certificate and it is not notarized by Apple. Gatekeeper may show a warning on the first launch.

Not included

v1.0.0 does not include custom grids, window quarters, margins, saved layouts, cloud sync, import/export, or automation rules.
