Release list
openraid v1.2.1
Saved sessions now restore their full working history, with explicit OpenCode import and simpler Windows downloads.
Improvements
- Complete session restoration. Reopening restores the objective, agent
transcripts—including tool and command output—usage counters, roster,
checkpoints, and pause state. Both interfaces open saved history without
starting requests and support explicit continuation of unfinished work.
#27
· #29 - OpenCode import by choice. Detected OpenCode credentials and configuration
require confirmation before use. The decision is remembered; import remains
available later through/import-opencodeor desktop Settings.
#28 - Executable-only downloads. Release assets are limited to the two Windows
executables andLICENSE, which includes embedded desktop icon attribution.
Linux and macOS remain available through source builds and native CI checks. - Reliable release verification. The startup consent regression waits for
the dashboard's idle state before sending exit keys, avoiding a Unix readiness
race with the consent screen. Timeouts include terminal output for diagnosis.
Continuing saved work
Use /resume in the terminal or Resume on the desktop to continue an
unfinished task. openraid setup --resume also explicitly resumes it. Use
/start your objective for new work or /new for separate history. Explicitly
stopped work remains stopped.
Full activity is retained in the database's adjacent .activity directory.
Keep it together with the SQLite database when preserving session history.
Available legacy checkpoint history is restored where possible.

Download your preferred executable and LICENSE. Launch the desktop directly,
or run openraid.exe setup --workspace PATH --agents 4 from a terminal. The
desktop requires WebView2. Native model transports need no Node.js; specialized
SDK providers require the sidecar from the source checkout and its dependencies.
Verification
Local verification passed 401 Rust tests, 90 frontend tests, 7 native
desktop tests, 25 SDK/provider tests, and 9 packaging tests. A final
28-test restoration/control/desktop regression gate also passed. Formatting,
warnings-denied Clippy, workflow lint, and whitespace checks passed.
The corrected consent fixture passed on Windows and in 10 consecutive Linux
runs. The corrected-source Linux all-target suite passed 396 tests with seven
optional Node fixtures ignored; native CI runs those fixtures too.
Publication is gated on native verification and optimized terminal/desktop
builds on Windows, Linux, macOS Intel, and macOS Apple Silicon. The workflow
checks that uploaded assets contain only the two executables and LICENSE.
openraid v1.2.0
Use OpenRaid from a new native desktop workspace or the familiar terminal, with the same agent runtime and saved sessions.
What's new
- Optional desktop app. A separate Tauri + React executable embeds the
existing Rust/Tokio runtime in-process. Terminal builds remain independent of
Tauri, WebView libraries, and frontend dependencies. - Shared session controls. Start, pause, resume and stop work; manage agents,
models and reasoning variants; browse saved sessions, inspect MCP connections,
export the board, and explicitly restore prompts/workspace snapshots. - Focused desktop interface. Neutral light/dark appearances, collapsible
project navigation, searchable selectors, a rounded prompt composer, accessible
dialogs and Sonner notifications. Enter sends; Shift+Enter adds a newline. - Live agent inspection. Event-driven updates, virtualized rosters/history
for up to 500 agents, bounded live generation/tool/command previews and
on-demand retained transcripts. Frontend reloads reattach to an active session. - One release workflow. Each platform archive contains both the terminal
and desktop executables, shared SDK runtime companions, documentation and
desktop license notices. Publication requires both builds and their checks.
Using the desktop
Launch openraid-desktop.exe on Windows or openraid-desktop on Linux/macOS
without CLI arguments, then open a workspace. The terminal remains openraid.exe
or openraid. Existing .openraid/ databases, provider configuration and
credentials are shared; opening saved history does not start agents automatically.
Close one interface before opening the same active session in the other.
Windows requires WebView2; Linux requires WebKitGTK 4.1 and its native libraries.
macOS uses the system WebView. Source builds need Rust 1.90+ and Node.js 22.12+.
Native model transports do not require Node.js; specialized SDK-backed providers
retain their existing optional Node.js requirements.
See the desktop guide
for setup, controls, safety and platform prerequisites.

Verify the extracted release archive against its entry in SHA256SUMS before
running either executable. These are executable archives, not signed installers
or macOS app bundles.
Verification
The single release workflow checks version/tag alignment, TUI dependency
isolation, Rust and frontend tests, formatting, warnings-denied Clippy, SDK
behavior, a 500-agent offline smoke, both optimized builds, combined packaging
and SHA-256 checksums. Archives are published only after all four native
platform jobs succeed; release preparation is not proof that those jobs passed.
openraid v1.1.3
Use model capacity and swarm parallelism fully, with durable completion votes and simpler file creation.
Improvements
- Model-sized context and output budgets. Omitted limits adopt the selected
model's catalog capacity across providers, including reasoning output. Explicit
overrides and saved-session intent are preserved; model changes recalculate
implicit defaults. #20
#21 - Earlier, richer compaction. Compaction starts around 75% of available input
capacity. Continuation summaries scale with context instead of stopping at
2,048 tokens, while respecting supported output limits.
#23 - Agent-scaled concurrency. Default provider admission is
max(32, agents);
command and PTY capacity ismax(4, agents). Explicit caps stay in effect.
#22
#24 - Exclusive native file creation.
write_filetakespathandcontent,
creates missing parents, and atomically refuses existing targets. Use
apply_patchfor subsequent edits.
#25 - Persistent completion evidence. Done workers park without provider calls
or peer-history compaction. Peer chatter preserves votes and consensus grace;
new owner steering and roster controls invalidate prior completion evidence.
#26
Using the updated defaults
Unknown model limits fall back to 32,000 context and 16,384 output tokens. Output
that would consume the whole context is reduced to one quarter of context to keep
usable input headroom. Saved implicit budgets and concurrency follow the selected
model and launch size; explicit overrides remain tracked separately.

Verification
Regression coverage exercises configured and bundled model capacities, explicit
overrides, remembered launches, shared thinking headroom, long-context summaries,
concurrency scaling, competing file creators, and voted-worker behavior under
continuous peer traffic and new owner instructions. Four-platform release CI
gates publication on Rust and Node tests, formatting, warnings-denied Clippy,
optimized builds, checksums, and a 500-worker offline smoke.
Local acceptance passed 354 Rust tests and 25 Node tests, with no failures
or ignored/skipped tests. Formatting, warnings-denied Clippy, and whitespace
checks passed.
openraid v1.1.2
Browse the complete global board without getting stuck at a 100-message history boundary.
Fixes
- Continuous board history navigation. Arrow keys, j/k, and the mouse wheel
load the next or previous page when scrolling reaches a page boundary. Wrapped
messages remain readable before navigation advances. - Fresh forward pagination. Scrolling down and PageDown discover messages
posted while live following is paused. Arrow and wheel navigation remain in
history mode; End or f returns to live following.
Fixes #19.

Verification
Regression coverage exercises rendered navigation across 250 messages, reverse
pagination, wrapped text, follow controls, and messages appended during history.
Local acceptance passed 322 Rust tests and 25 Node tests, formatting,
and warnings-denied Clippy.
Four-platform release CI gates publication on the Rust and Node test suites,
formatting, warnings-denied Clippy, optimized builds, and a 500-worker offline smoke.
openraid v1.1.1
More predictable session startup and a clearer view of your swarm's activity.
Improvements
- Idle session reopening. Saved sessions no longer start work automatically.
Unfinished prompts, rosters, votes, and checkpoints are preserved until you
explicitly start or resume work. #15 - Consistent workspace storage. Automatic reopening redirects legacy root
database paths to.openraid/openraid.sqlite3. Existing files remain untouched;
explicit database/session selections and custom paths still work.
#16 - Accurate live rosters. Removed agents leave the sidebar on the next redraw
while admitted operations drain safely. Selection stays tied to agent identity,
and historical activity and usage remain available.
#17 - Refined agent inspection. An OpenCode-inspired transcript separates
responses, tools, results, and status. Responsive metadata, clearer history
controls, and corrected mouse-copy bounds improve readability.
#18
Using the updated controls
/start your objectivestarts work;/newopens fresh history.openraid setup --resumeexplicitly continues interrupted work.- Select an agent and press Enter to inspect it; f toggles live following
and Esc/q returns to the dashboard.
Legacy root history is not moved or merged. Open it deliberately with
--database openraid.sqlite3 or --session SESSION_ID.

openraid setup --workspace PATH --agents 4 (openraid.exe on Windows).
Specialized SDK providers additionally require Node.js 22.12+ and
npm ci --prefix scripts; native transports do not require Node.js.
Verification
Local acceptance: 316 Rust tests and 25 Node tests passed, with no failures
or ignored tests. Formatting and warnings-denied Clippy passed. Four-platform
release CI gates publication on native verification, optimized builds, checksums,
and a 500-worker offline smoke.
openraid v1.1.0
A more readable, inspectable terminal swarm, with immediate operator cancellation
and consistent workspace-local storage.
Ten terminal themes
Use /themes or Ctrl+X, then Y for a searchable picker with local previews.
Enter applies and saves; Esc cancels. Select directly with /themes nord.
Included palettes: Openraid, Tokyo Night, Catppuccin Mocha, Nord, Dracula,
Gruvbox Dark, Rosé Pine, Solarized Dark, Catppuccin Latte, and Paper. The last two
are light themes. Setup, dashboard, menus, and mouse selection share the palette;
text/status colors and selected text meet the built-in 4.5:1 contrast checks.
See docs/THEMES.md for exact IDs and preference locations.
Fixes
- #11 — Concurrent collaboration:
the coordination prompt explicitly encourages negotiating concurrent tasks
instead of deferring to a single author. - #12 — Immediate stop:
/stopimmediately signals cancellation of all workers and active operations,
before database/control-lock waits. Native process trees and PTYs are terminated;
SDK/MCP cancellation preserves independent active requests. Queued and blocking
file tools observe stop/caller cancellation at operation boundaries. Snapshot
preparation is interruptible, stopped workers do not restart, and the console
can accept fresh work afterward. Already-applied changes are not rolled back. - #13 — Workspace storage:
default paths always use.openraid/openraid.sqlite3, without probing or falling
back to a root database. Existing root files remain untouched. Explicit database
paths and intentionally reopened sessions are preserved. - #14 — Agent inspection:
select an agent and press Enter to open full-screen activity: retained streamed
generation, tool arguments/results, and live command/PTY output. Use arrows,
Page Up/Down, Home/End, andfto browse/follow; Esc/q restores the dashboard.
Complete activity is temporarily disk-spooled per agent, while dashboard previews
stay bounded. Streaming preserves split Unicode characters and agent isolation.
Pause, member retirement, completion consensus, and console close retain their
graceful safe-boundary behavior; /stop is the explicit immediate-cancellation action.

Extract the archive and run the included executable with
setup --workspace PATH --agents 4. Each archive includes documentation, the
license, and optional SDK runtime companions. Native transports need no Node
installation; specialized providers require Node.js 22.12+ and
npm ci --prefix scripts in the extracted directory.
SHA256SUMS accompanies the platform archives. The workflow attaches downloads
and publishes this release after all four native verification/build jobs pass.
Verification
The combined Windows acceptance passed 298 Rust tests, including optional
fixtures, with no failures or ignored tests, plus 25 Node tests, formatting,
and whitespace checks. Coverage includes all ten palettes, responsive previews,
preferences, inspector navigation beyond 65,535 rows, live process Unicode,
immediate process/provider cancellation, queued blocking mutations, SQLite/control
lock contention, MCP exact-request cancellation with active sibling isolation,
and SDK reuse. Native release CI additionally runs Clippy, optimized builds,
and a 500-worker offline smoke on each platform. See docs/VERIFICATION.md.
openraid v1.0.2
Improves bulk agent controls, board coordination, and workspace storage.
Changes
- Add-count popup and batch removal with
Spaceselection andCtrl+A; selections persist across search filters. /board,/export-board [PATH], and confirmed idle-only/clear-boardcontrols. Export does not overwrite existing files; clear retains workspace files and the roster.- New default databases use
.openraid/openraid.sqlite3, with compatible reuse of an existing workspace-root database when the nested default is absent. Explicit and remembered database paths are preserved. - Workspace and MCP tool coordination is advisory; positive completion votes still require a fully current board cursor.
- Initial model, roster, and pause configuration stays silent before the first objective.
- Drag-to-copy text selection and an elapsed-weighted rolling one-minute TPS display.

The release workflow builds and verifies all four platforms before publication and provides SHA256SUMS for the archives.
openraid v1.0.1
Adds persistent session controls and reliable workspace isolation, addressing
issue #4.
Session controls
- Visible workspace, session ID/database, and IDLE / RUNNING / PAUSED / STOPPING state.
- Clickable Sessions, New, Start, Pause / Resume, and Stop controls.
/start,/pause,/resume, and/stop, with keyboard shortcuts. Pause preserves context; stop drains admitted operations, skips unstarted side effects, and returns the guided console to idle without claiming completion./sessions,/session ID, and/newfor browsing, switching, and creating separate histories. Navigation waits for idle and rejects pending mutations.- Closing the guided console drains admitted work and preserves unfinished tasks for recovery. Explicitly stopped tasks are not silently restarted.
Workspace isolation and recovery
- Launches use the invocation directory; remembered preferences no longer silently select another project.
- Source launch scripts preserve the caller's working directory.
openraid sessionslists local history;--alllists every workspace.openraid setup --newcreates a fresh database;openraid setup --session IDexplicitly opens the session's original workspace.- Each workspace/session retains its own model settings, including older sessions and canonical database aliases. New sessions inherit the current model and roster.
- Opening a database registered to another workspace is rejected before durable membership, votes, or history can change.
- Pause/stop remain responsive during snapshot preparation and unrelated console jobs. Queued-prompt, startup, navigation, and stop/recovery races have regression coverage.
- Workers observe console closure before their next provider turn; a drained worker is not restarted while the session is closing.

Extract the archive, then run the included executable with setup --workspace PATH --agents 4.
Each archive includes the user guide, license, and optional SDK runtime companions.
Native model transports need no Node installation; specialized providers require
Node.js 22.12+ and npm ci --prefix scripts in the extracted directory.
SHA256SUMS records every platform archive's SHA-256 checksum. Each platform is
built natively, tested, and smoke-checked before the release is published.
The local acceptance record includes 208 Windows Rust tests, 24 Node tests, and
nine actual Unix PTY cases. CI separately runs native/integration checks on every
release platform. Offline swarm measurements verify orchestration, not paid-model
quality or 500-agent live-provider throughput.
